First Reply Chasing Stars of Hope

Kaia was more than happy to keep helping out. Her father was retiring even from Stars of Hope. He was knowing there could become a time where he was needed, but for now? Porter was helping out his daughter, the one who was the better explorer of the two of his eldest children. She was smiling at the droid, sad that the Force had pulled her father to concern himself with his own health.

He was a warrior, but more than that he was an explorer.

Still, leaving the hyperspace hole from Xelec.

Here she was looking Companion Besh over from afar.

A ship had come under strain and her Wandering Star was coming calling. She saw the freighter, and the pirates going across it, a larger ship and several fighters. TIEs? No, but not far from.

She may have to call in her own picket carrier, a FarStar with Eta Interceptors.

The freighter buckled as evasive maneuvers were attempted by the veteran pilot at the helm. It was an old rust bucket, but it had life left in it yet. That was if the pirates chasing them didn't manage to score any more hits. Sindar had really kicked the hornet's nest this time, angering a small band of pirates on the planet of Nar Kaaga.

"Next time I think about stealing from Hutts, I want you to slap me," Sindar screamed to the rebels frantically charging to the defensive guns on the freighter.

Their armament was not going to be enough to defend them against a full blown pirate attack, even if it was just a couple of old fighters and a big ugly frigate. The turbolasers had already scored a few strikes, and wrecked the freighter's shields. Those components were meant to deflect small space debris, not tank capital ship weaponry.

"I knew I shouldn't have listened to you bleeding heart rebels!! You better be ready to pay for all the damage my baby has taken," A feminine voice stated as she yelled from the cockpit.

Jand, the rough and ready old Miraluka lady piloting the ship, was thankfully too busy flying to give Sindar the thump he deserved! All told, this was going to get expensive even if they didn't take more damage. And Sindar had already promised quite the sum to the older smuggler for getting them on the planet in the first place.

"Don't worry about your pay! Worry about saving our skins first! Besides, if we make it back home with what we're carrying, then I'll hook you up with all the credits you can carry!"

Just as all seemed lost, Sindar saw lights flicker to life on the main screens of the ship. There were other ships nearby! He picked up the radio handset, trying to hail the other ships in local space. With any luck there would be someone out there with the guns to at least make the pirates reconsider!

"This is Sindar Malik of the Wild Space Rebellion calling out to any nearby vessels. We are in need of assistance and under direct attack from pirates. Anything you can give we will happily take!!"

She didn’t mean to take this long but sometimes work came first. ANd that was why this response took forever. As the FarStar known as Solar Flare entered the system, the Wandering Star shuttle pushed forward slowly. She kept her eyes on a swivel as the data was being logged to her ship’s system, and her fathers droid already analyzing it.

That astromech had seen so much the galaxy that its memory that it was almost like having a new droid, sometimes. But when the ships were realized the fighters were Hutt fighters, the snippets of her father’s journals came in. Several fighters, two wings, rapid fire lasers, no missiles. Not much of a deal for the right pilots.

And that was what was launching from the Solar Flare several of the modified Eta style interceptors were opening their wings.

Kaia kept moving forward and looked at the comms. “I hear you, Malik. Starchaser ships inbound. Is your hyperdrive working?” They could provide a decent screen and let them get away. It was a Warden’s job to protect the space lanes, and normally not ask for credits in return.
