Character Who Doesn't Speak Basic

Ok, from an RPing / posting perspective, how would one go about playing a character who doesn't speak a lick of Basic? I've been contemplating making a character who would have grown up outside of a Basic-speaking community. However, I dont want to be "that guy" who posts every dialogue in the alien language and expects everyone else to translate, but also don't want to lose authenticity of the character speaking their language.

Thoughts / Suggestions?

There are a few ways:
  • Get a translator. Lowbacca used one called Em-Teedee to help translate his Wookiee growls into Basic
  • Use a common non-Basic trade language that others might be familiar with
  • Have an NPC sidekick that translates for you (as Han was for Chewie)
  • OR, and here's a thought, just let people NOT understand you, and make your character communicate more subtly: gestures, tone, actions. Not everybody needs to be talkative or even understood overtly to make their thoughts and desires known.
There's always a way!

Perhaps post something like...

Alien language here [Translation here] as you write. However then you lose some of the 'I can't tell what this guy is saying' aspect which can make your RP journey more interesting.

^ [member="Teynara Jeralyr"] Made all the points I would have. I have Yuroic speaking basic but he speaks most languages anyways. For that I use http://starwars.myrpg.org/coruscant_translator.php

However, it doesn't have Wookiee so might want to look into her's for that. Will say, most of Wookieespeak is random growls and grunts anyways so translating site isn't really required xD

I also post translations into a hide-y box at the end for others to know what I said.
