Celesti Religion

Vie, the Goddess of Life

Wife to the God of Destruction: Letum, Vie is the Goddess of life and mother to all on Ivelisse. In Celeste it is believed that whenever a person is born, they are each blessed with a gift from Vie.

The Queen

In Celesti religion, the country's queen is believed to be the embodiment of their Goddess Vie and thus, head of the country's religion. The Celesti queen's responsibility is not only to rule over her Kingdom but also to serve as a spiritual leader to her people. At the beginning of every week, the Queen performs blessings for those who desire it and heals the sick at the Sacred Fountain beginning at the holy hour of 8 o'clock in the morning until 8 o'clock at night.

Touched by the Goddess and the Force

Those sensitive in the Force are considered to be touched by the Goddess in Celesti religion. As a result, the Force is considered a holy power in the culture and those with it must be given permission by the Queen to use it otherwise they will most likely be shunned by the community. To use holy power without permission is seen as an insult to both the Queen and Goddess.

The Sacred Fountain

A naturally occurring source of Holy Water in Celeste, the water of Sacred Fountain is believed to originate from the tears of the Goddess Vie who cried for the suffering of her children, the humans, when they died - many at a time - during the period of the Gulag Plague. Believed to have purifying properties, many of the Celesti undertake a pilgrimage to Eaux Saintes at least once in their lives to acquire some of this water.

Twins of Calamity

Any time a pair of twins are born to the royal family, they are considered twins of calamity and must be purified in the Sacred Fountain located in the heart of the Capitol, Eaux Saintes, if grave misfortune is to be avoided.
