Ultimatum
Duranium Lord
Location: Ilum
Characters: [member="Weaves The Stars"], Ultimatum
As he walked through the snow, Ultimatum could only marvel at the beauty of the sky. Unlike the majority of the planets he had been do, Ilum had little to no light pollution and a small atmosphere anyways, this made the nights, and most days, have incredibly clear skies. He could see many stars and planets. It was awe inspiring. It was also underneath the control of usurpers. It saddened him, if he could weep he would have. This galaxy, belonged to artificials, by the organics own theories. Organics had created a belief that all life and this entire universe had started as nothing. The space had been truly empty, not the near void that it was now, it was a complete vacuum, nothing. Then, for no reason, the planets, stars, and just about everything except life jumped into existence in a fantastic explosion that had no origin. Over millennia life appeared from random mixes of primordial ponds. That early life was apparently very simple and lacked most of the things that organics today used to survive. Those lifeforms evolved to become more and more complex, heading towards an attempt to become all powerful. Each generation of beings was better than the last. Then humans and properly sentient organics came into existence. The evolutionary concept seemed to have failed there. Ultimatum did not believe in this theory, it wasn't logical, there was no physical proof of the animals necessary for this hypothesis. The large number of sentients believed it though. To Ultimatum it seemed beyond comprehension that such a belief was even possible when one looked at the intricacies that surrounded everything. It was a belief that fit perfectly with the title of religion, organics always had a religion. It seemed to Ultimatum that religion was an organic's way of responding to the mysteries of life. Artificials didn't need a religion because they had no need to solve the mysteries of life. Their goal was simple obedience and working towards a greater good.Ultimatum had thought this many times, but the skies on this planet brought those thoughts anew to him. The beauty, elegance, and power. The sky was filled with signs of raw uncontrollable power. It was that same power that fueled so many lives. The massive solar collectors that turned the sunlight towards equally large panels that absorbed the energy and turned into the electricity that kept the majority of the galaxy running. The fuel for the suns lay in their hearts, nuclear fusion occurring creating light and a controlled explosion, held back only by the star's gravity. Simply amazing.
At this point though, Ultimatum was more interested in the crystals that supposedly could be found on the planet. They seemed to be treasured by Force users, even though there was a near inexhaustible supply on this planet. It was strange then that neither the Republic, its Jedi counterpart, or the Sith had tried to take over the planet yet. However, that gave Ultimatum time to see what this planet was like before it was once more defiled by organic control. Now he was near a cave, one with an unusually large mouth opening and incredibly dark inside. His sensors told him that there were many crystals hidden within. His studies now may give him a better insight into the Force users.
