Description: With the resurgence of success with the Hydra War Droid program among the higher ups of the Techno Union, Haor Chall Engineering has stepped into the game once more to provide a unique spin on droid warfare. Introducing the Caustic Biologic Combat Droid. As a result of the Yuuzhan Vong uprisings in the Techno Union, the minds at Haor Chall Engineering have created a unit to counteract a purely organic military. The Caustic War Droid is very similar in function and mentality to its Stinger sibling, but with one major change.

The Caustic Droid is not compatible with any form of weapons or vehicle. In fact, it doesn’t even have the proper programming to manipulate either. At the end of its ‘arms’ are sprayers especially created to douse close enemies in a variety of acids or flames, underneath the sprayers are simple hands, more designed for opening doors than anything else, the Caustic Droids are typically deployed in a mixed unit with other Haor Chall battle droid types. A simple droid, it is designed to fill a role as a shock trooper and to chase out organic targets from hiding, and do its best to melt them. The range varies based on a variety of factors including wind and product being used. Flamethrowers have an approximate range of 15 meters while corrosive acids (hydrochloric and sulphuric acids in varying dilutions) have a maximum range of 5 meters, with the added consequence of having misted corrosives in the air.

Depending on the product being released, a pair of tanks of flame-creating fuel can last perhaps 3 minutes, while a tank of misting corrosives will last a bit longer, for about 5 minutes of continuous spray. Keep in mind, this will change due to pressure of the local environment and how densely filled the tanks are. More pressure used for the tanks increases their explodability (its a word, I don't care what spellcheck says) exponentially. Another flaw in this system, is continuous flow of flame or corrosives will over run the protective barriers on the droid and they are programmed to not fire for more than 10 seconds continuously, with a required cool down of 15 seconds before another spray can be made. It should be noted that the each nozzle CAN be fired independently from one another.

Ok. Not going to lie, this thing's name had me very, very worried.

But everything you have here seems mostly alright to me.
(I am saddened by the lack of RAID in those chemical tanks)

I need a maximum range for the spray effect of this droid's weapons as well as a width. I also need some form of "ammo count" that includes number of shots, and how quickly "holding down the trigger" can deplete the tanks.

Also, while I won't need a dev thread for this, if different chemicals are to be utilized with this submission in the future, dev threads will likely need to be included with the submission update request depending on the lethality of the chemical being added.

Oh. Also.

You sure you don't want this thing to have even rudimentary hands? Right now, the Raptors from Jurassic Park can open doors better than this thing.

Upi-dated.
Range of 15 m for flame, 5 for misting corrosives
Run a tank in 10 minutes for flame, 15 for corrosives
Gave him tiny raptor hands.

Brb. Losing it.

Ok! Back. I still need a specific "number of shots" for this guy's weapons. Please keep in mind that a WWII erra flamethrower with a backpack fuel tank could completely deplete itself in less than 60 seconds if the user held down the trigger. I'm not going to be holding you to that standard, but I'm going to need a drastic reduction from "15 minutes."

Can I Star Wars hand wave to get 5 minutes for misting and like 3 for flame? Thats counting both tanks, half of five minutes and half of three minutes per tank.

I'll build you a mechagodzilla next

Or a mechaRaptor

Alright, lets look at the math here...

3-5 second "bursts" as a standard shot.
60 seconds of fuel. 12-20 shots for the tank.
3 minutes of fuel, 36-60 shots for the tank.
5 minutes of fuel, 60-100 shots for the tank.

If this was a Grenadier using 2x grenade launchers, you'd be looking at 16-24 shots total before needing to reload and around 48-72 shots total.

Eh... It seems like a little high to me, but doesn't sound completely unreasonable.

Add in a limit stating something along the lines of "holding down the trigger for longer than 20 seconds at a time risks overheating the weapon and causing a fatal detonation of the fuel tank," and you should be good to go.
