It had been sometime now since Ko had tried his little gas chamber stunt in his dorm room. He was lucky enough to have been able to keep his canisters of Dorin gas since then. Because they’d likely prove useful for the Kel Dor later on so long as he didn’t use them like he had before. He hoped that someday he’ll be able to get a room that could accommodate him and his unique biology. Or even a ship that he could modify the life support system with. But until then he needed to soldier through with his antiox mask.

However, it had come to his attention recently that one of his precious gas canisters was missing now. Ko didn’t really own a lot of possessions so it wasn’t hard for him to realize when something was off with his belongings. His canisters had been kept in a box within his closet, and around it he noticed faint, little scratch marks that seemed to indicate an animal had been in here at some point.

“Thieving varmints…” Ko muttered to himself. Thinking back some to how some of the Jedi had animal companions. A number of them bonding with some of the Raycons back on Ukatis. He figured it had to have been one of those critters. Animals he has had to deal with before during his years in the agricorps who always gave the Kel Dor trouble with their mischief. He just needed to find out whose pet was the thief.

At first Ko had went to ask Jonyna if her Raycon had stolen his stuff since she was the first person that came to mind. They had a brief interaction back on Ukatis during the festival and knew that she had adopted one of the critters. But he wasn’t entirely empty handed from asking the cathar woman. He got a lead on others who had taken in and bonded with their own Raycons.

Eventually Ko got to the dorm of Ryana. A twi’lek padawan that he hasn't had the pleasure of meeting yet. He felt a little bad, not wanting their first encounter to be him accusing her pet of stealing from him. But he also wanted to get to the bottom of this. Curling his clawed fingers into a loose fist he knocks on the door to her dorm. Hoping she was inside.

Of course pip got out while ryana showered after training after she had gotten dressed she noticed his cage was open and one of her vents was open. "I ask and ask for magbolts from maintenance so he stops doing this but no he's not a security risk" she said mockingly as she was getting her boots on she heard a knock on the door. She walked up and opened it "oh hey ko right what's up" she said somewhat surprised he showed up at her door "my racyon didn't do anything to you did he" she asked cautiously pip would be the death of her even if she loved him he was a pain.

Pip walked down the halls triumphantly with his prize a small cannister of Dorian gas between two of his small arms as one of the temple security walked Infront of him "stop right there pip" the security guard said as pip stuck out his tongue he was well known by temple security. As he ran off and the guard gave chase pip dodged his attempts to grab him as the small rodent chattered almost moving the guard. As he slipped into a small service tunnel meant for droids the guard grabbed his holo device and alerted the guard captain.

Luckily for the Kel Dor he was he was able to find who he was looking for. The door opened and he saw the red lethan twi’lek. She called him by his name which almost surprised Ko, but there weren’t a lot of other people around like him to be mistaken with. So he nodded when he addressed me.

Ryana already seemed to have an idea of what he could be here for. Ko couldn’t help but let out a little chuckle through his mask. “Hey Ryana, actually yeah I was coming to ask about that. I’m guessing this isn’t the first time? Something’s missing and I’ve been narrowing it down to all the Raycons folks got back on Ukatis.” The Kel Dor padawan explained to his twi’lek compatriot. “Also sorry I don’t mean to come off as too accusatory, not really trying to put any blame on you or anything. Just wanna get to the bottom of this is all.” He just understood how mischievous the little critters could be.

She stood there her and ko definitely stood out in the temple not many of either of their kind here especially not lethan twi'lek. "This isn't the first time your right I was about to go find him your welcome to come join me in looking for him" she said as she walked out of the room her datapad beeped and she received a call from the guard captain "we found pip he's walking the halls with a shiny metal canister do you know what's inside before we have an incident again" he asked she looked at ko and she knew about his incident from a few days ago "it was one of kos canisters I believe it is filled with the same stuff he used in his room" she said then it hit her how much danger pip was in. "Then I'm putting the temple on high alert who knows where he'll open that canister" the captain said shutting down their call. Ryana looked worried as she looked back at ko "please tell me those cannisters have some safety feature to prevent them from being randomly being opened" she asked him.

Pip walked through the halls now free of the guard unaware that the temple was on high alert due to his actions carryingng the canister of gas with him as he walked into the library and sat down in one of the nooks the was hard to find to rest for a bit before going forward for more antics.

Ko didn’t mind the idea of getting to walk alongside her if he was welcome to. Listening to her some as she responded to the datapad. It sounded like her pet Pip did indeed have his canister. His skin turned noticeably more red with embarrassment worrying that there will be a similar repeat to last time.

When Ryana gave him a concerned look and asked about the canisters. “Yeah it’s mainly kept shut with a kind of pin. Gotta give it a firm tug to be able to let the gas out.” He recalled how the mechanism worked. Ko would try to assure her that it shouldn't be too dangerous. “The gasses inside of it aren’t toxic. If somehow Pip managed to get it open it shouldn’t hurt him. Just create a mess.” He tried to explain to Ryana, hoping his words gave her less to worry about in regards to the danger Pip was in. His home world was inhospitable to most other people do to the lack of oxygen rather than the presence of other gasses. “Hey Ryana, are you bonded with Pip, perhaps you could get a feel for where he is right now.”

Ryana was worried for pip sure he was a royal pain in her lekku at times. But he was also sweet and a huge snuggle buddy at times as well but she knew this wouldn't look good for either of them. "He's more clever than the average racyon if he wants to open it he will I'm more worried about where he'll open it then him being harmed" she said looking at him as she thought of a way to find him. That's when ko mentioned their force bond she smiled "we'll have to act quickly once I sense where he is he'll know and start moving again or he'll open the canister to get at what's inside and I doubt either of us want that" she said. As she reached out through their force bond and sensed where he was she then took off for the library hoping ko would follow.

Pip sat there looking over the cannister as he looked for a way to open it and claim the prize inside as he felt Ryana tugging at their force bond the small creature knew what that meant and picked up the cannister and tried running with it knowing ryana wouldn't be pleased. As he walked through the huge library he caught the eyes of a few Jedi but attempted to play it off nonchalantly.

He had to agree with the Twi’lek, he didn’t want Pip getting into the canister. Even though Ko didn’t really think he’d get into nearly as much trouble as last time since this time it wasn’t really his fault. Also he could appreciate the moment too, since this gave him something to do and keep his mind occupied. It was also nice to finally meet Ryana, although he would’ve likely preferred a less hectic first encounter with the red twi’lek.

Ko was ready to follow her wherever she sensed where her animal companion was. So once she started to make her way to the library he quickly followed close behind without hesitation. As he did, Ko spoke up some. “Hey Ryana uh, I forgot to mention it earlier but thanks. I’m sure I’d be running around in circles if not for you right now.”

Ryana was running through the halls "thanks for coming with me ko id like to talk afterwards and " she said as she ran with ko in toe. This wasn't the best first impression of her in her mind but that was up to ko. As she ran she dodged a few people breathing carefully as she did so "id like you to have your canister unopened for whatever you want it for that's why I'm worried about because pip will try to open it" she said as they got to the entrance to the library "keep your eyes peeled ko he's sneaky" she said as she began walking around looking for pip.

Pip was trying to sneak through the library with the canister he wanted to open it he saw ryana and he began to run with the canister as he stopped hearing ryana yell at him. Turning around as he set down the canister.

Ryana saw pip as he began to run "pip stop or no more grapes ever" she yelled as she walked up and pip began talking back and Ryana bent over picking up the canister as she looked back at ko. "Here ko I know it didn't pose to much of a risk to the temple but us padawans have so little that reminds of us home" she said with a smile. Pip spoke up with squeaks and squeals behind ryana who turned around to see him sitting there pathetically and defeated looking at her "you young man are in trouble what am I going to do with you" she said like a mother trying to scold a child.

Ryana began to explain her motives other than just looking out for her fuzzy little companion. He didn’t get to reply yet before the pair of padawans made their way into the library and they found Pip. Ko simply watched and listened as Ryana chastised her mischievous animal companion.

Through covered eyes Ko looked back to the red Twi’lek as she handed him back his canister. Listening to her before taking the metal canister back. He found Ryana’s reasoning surprisingly touching. He didn’t think about it in that way but still. “Thanks again Ryana, I really appreciate it. Um, I guess you should let the guard captain know that a crisis has been averted.” Ko said as part of him started to consider getting a decent lock to keep this from happening again.

He let out a soft chuckle as she verbalized wondering what she was gonna do about Pip. Ko didn’t really know much about the other padawan, something he might wanna try to remedy. “Uh, do you remember much from your homeworld Ryana?”

She looked at ko as she stood there with him in the library people where looking at the three of them. "Probably a good idea ko" she said as she sent a message that the crisis had been averted. She then looked between ko and pip part of her couldn't be mad at pip he was to cute and fluffy even If she had to be for his sake so he didn't do anything to reckless or dangerous. She heard ko's question she smiled sadly "it's a harsh world where most twi'lek live in underground cave systems or in mountains away from the storms and heat it holds little value besides the twi'lek people other than that ryloth is a distant memory I spent most of my life on nar shadda 'working' for igratta the hutt" she said.

"What about you ko do you have any happy memories from your home world?" She asked as pip sat there looking at her the young lethan was still Wondering what to do with him and he knew that as he got up and walked up to ko and hugged his leg as pip looked up at ko with tear filled eyes ryana looked at the two of them "he's looking for forgiveness" she said as she felt it through her force bond with the little creature sure he is mischievous but he was also a snuggler as well when he wasn't being a pain In her lekku.

He listened to Ryana’s reply closely. He knew a little bit about Twi’leks but not much. However, even he knew that one’s who had red skin were more uncommon, if not the most uncommon. But when she mentioned working for a Hutt on Nar Shadda his heart sank some for the fellow padawan. Ko had spent plenty of years on Nubia, which was ruled by a particularly ancient Hutt for many centuries. He knew pretty well as to the kind of people they can be. “I’m sure that couldn’t have been easy. I’ve always heard Nar Shadda can be a tough place to grow up. I’ve never been there myself though.”

Soon after she asked about his own homeworld. “Hmm, well I left when I was about six or seven. It was very windy, almost all the time. It was also nice not needing to wear a mask and goggles all the time. That’s kinda why I got my hands on these canisters in the first place.” After mentioning that he looked down at Pip who was now hugging his leg. He raised a brow at the Raycon before hearing Ryana explain what the critter was doing.

Letting out a chuckle Ko knelt down and gave the Raycon a few pets. “Okay Pip, I forgive you. Just don’t go rummaging through my stuff again okay?” He wasn’t sure if his words meant anything to the Raycon, but hoped that his gentle pets got the message across some. Standing back up Ko looked back to the red twi’lek and asked. “I gotta get this back where it belongs, care to walk back to the dorms with me? We can talk along the way. I remember you saying you wanting to talk afterwards while we were chasing Pip here.” He asked before placing the canister in a pouch on his belt.

She stood there with ko her life wasn't easy but she was alive still and she was mostly free to do what she wanted now anyway and she wanted to help people. She tried to not focus on the past even though she was healing from it and had accepted what happened to her. "It wasn't easy being a child or a slave to a hutt let alone an oddity chained to a hutt but I'm free now and have become a Jedi" she said knowing she traded her freedom for a different kind of cage with a slight illusion of freedom that would bring its own hardships and pain.

She felt sad for him having to wear them all the time "I'm surprised the Jedi don't have rooms that can have special environments for species like yours" she said. As she watched pip the little creature had a heart of gold when he wasn't being a mischievous little pain after ko talked to him he began chittering a response almost sounding like a response.

Then he ran off between two shelf's ryana let out a groan she heard ko's question "let me collect my little trouble maker and I'll walk back with you" she said as she walked after pip seeing him sitting there staring at a turned off datapad "having fun" she asked as pip looked up. And stuck his tongue out at her "put it back we're leaving and when we get back to our room I'll make lunch" she said as pip put the holopad back and began following her as she got back to ko after a minute or two " I don't think he should be a problem anymore unless we run into something highly distracting" she said as pip stood there on all fours looking between them. with his tongue out hanging there.

Ko could feel a little lucky knowing that his species never really had a history of enslavement. Then again who would want to waste time dealing with slaves that can’t even breathe the atmosphere on most habitable worlds. He listened to Ryana mention how the Jedi didn’t have special rooms for people like him. “I think the order used to back in the day, but the NJO is only really a fraction of what it once was. There’s just not a lot of members like me in it. Although I used to have something that helped accommodate me back in the agri-crops. But since I started to continue my journey as a padawan I’ve sorta lost it.” Ko explained some before watching pip run off once more.

“Haha, okay, I couldn’t imagine myself being able to take care of troublesome little critters like Pip.” He said as the red twi’lek when to catch him again. After the two began to walk back Ko asked. “So when did you join the Jedi? I myself was pretty young when I got recruited. So I don’t really remember a whole lot before becoming a youngling.”

Ryana stood there she wouldn't wish slavery on anyone yet here ko was a slave to his own genetics in a way forcing him to wear the eye coverings and respiration device over his mouth in order to breath. She wished she could help him but she wasn't sure how to "I'd still figure they'd figure something out for you so you could take those off when your in your own quarters maybe I'll threaten to release pip into some serious systems of they don't do something for you" she said somewhat jockingly pip looked up at her and chattered a reply that sounded like a yes.

"I've tried training him to be less troublesome but it doesn't stick but he grew on me besides he keeps things interesting" she said before walking off.

"Only two or three months ago it's been an improvement over my former life though even if I have to deal with pip being a pain all the time" she joked as pip spoke up in protest as he looked back at her "what made you want to stop being in agri-corp and want to continue your training?" She said as they began walking to kos room.

Ko gave a soft laugh from Ryana’s words. “I appreciate your concern. But I’ve been able to enjoy time without needing a mask more lately. Since my Master has their own ship I’m able to seal off my own room and make it habitable for myself.” Ko explained, letting her know he didn’t wear his mask nearly as much as he used to.

If he was being honest, even though he felt like Raycons and similar creatures can be real troublesome from time to time. He did find the banter between Ryana and Pip to be rather charming to watch. “Woah, so you are pretty new to the NJO huh? I met another girl recently who was very new too, she’s younger though.”

The red twi’lek then asked why he left the agricorps. As they walked he thought for a moment before replying. “Well I had been working hard in the agricorps for years. Even when The Maw had been dissolved, remnants were still threats. Some raided the world where I was on duty. There I got to fight alongside the Jedi Watchmen stationed there in their militia. They highly recommended I look into furthering my journey as a Jedi and strive for Knighthood. I guess they just saw potential in me I hadn’t yet seen. But I've never regrated my time in the agricorps.”

Ryana walked with ko listening to him "well it seems your master is kind and understanding of your condition mine is grumpy and mean" she said he meant well she hoped but he could lighten up some. he was trying to turn her into a Jedi so she got it as pip piped up distracting her as he was running off there was a young woman with grapes and he was trying to beg some off of her.

Ryana groaned as she walked up and grabbed pip "sorry" she said as she carried the small rodent who motioned to the girl for a grape. As ryana got back to ko pip huffed as he was being held now pouting as he didn't get what he wanted ryana felt his disappointment but ignored it do to him being in trouble. "I am new to the njo it's a good calling and loads better than living on nar shadda" as she patted on pips back.

She listened to ko speak fully as she got pip under control for now at least who knew how he'd sneak off next and for what purpose. " I'm glad you came out of that battle alive I look forward to seeing how your Jedi career unfolds" she said as pip sat there being held by her his head on her shoulder being uncharacteristically calm after all his antics so far today. Blinking and looking at people as they passed the young racyon stuck his tongue.

“Yeah my master is pretty kind, although they can be pretty eccentric for a jedi and um… tech illiterate might be the diplomatic way to put it.” Ko explained some more. He’d yet to deal with any “grumpy and mean” masters. But he was sure there were plenty within The Order.

Ko once more chuckled over witnessing the raycons antics. Making him feel rather content with just having to take care of his bonsai tree in his dorm. He listened to Ryana explain how their life has improved after coming to the NJO from Nar Shaddaa. “I’ve never really been to Hutt Space. The closest thing to it I know of is my time on Nubia. Which has been under the control of a Hutt for the last thousand years give or take."

“Thanks Ryana, I’ll be looking forward to your development as well. As well as pretty much every other padawan within the order.” Eventually the pair of padawans made it to the dorms. “Well, all I’ll need now is a decent lock and this situation shouldn’t happen again. Even if Pip might be feeling curious again.” He said with a friendly laugh under his mask before the door to his dorm room slid open. Showing off the clean and organized room he had. Looking back to the red Twi’lek he offered the padawan a hidden smile. “And thanks a lot for your help Ryana, if it wasn’t for you I’d be still running around in circles. I’d offer some tea as a thank you, but I’m not sure if you’d like any… So if you ever need a favor just ask alright?” He explained, wanting to show his appreciation.
