Intent: A personal maneuvering system

Development Thread: If required

Manufacturer: Gotal'Veman Arms & Armor

Model: Razorhawk Maneuvering System - Heavily Modified

Affiliation: Mandalorian

Modularity: Compatible with a wide range of various mandalorian armors produced by Gotal'Veman. Due to modifications from original form it is no longer suitable for attachment to watches, wrist blasters, or prosthetic limbs.

Production: Minor

Material: Durasteel, desh-terenthium, repulsor/microthruster components

Role: Low-profile personal propulsion unit

Height: Variable based on posture and dimensions of wearer

Length: Variable based on posture and dimensions of wearer

Width: Variable based on posture and dimensions of wearer

Weight: 13kg

Minimum Crew: 1

Optimal Crew: 1

Propulsion: Repulsorlift/microthruster

Top Speed: 100km/h in atmosphere. In space, assuming the operator is wearing a space suit underneath, class 16 speed and class 1 maneuverability.

Armaments: None, though close contact with palm and sole thruster apertures is not recommended as can cause first degree up to mid-severity second degree burns.

Squadron Count: Not applicable

Passenger Capacity: Operator could carry one other person on his/her back without appreciable loss of function, assuming a certain level of competency in the operator. Very short range for this operation style.

Cargo Capacity: Clips and straps could allow operator to carry 200kg without appreciable loss of function. This is not in addition to armor weight, but would include it.

Misc. Equipment: Advanced biofeedback, miniature sensor/collision alarm

Description:

(+) Allows high-precision maneuvering

(+) Low-profile design allows operation in confined spaces; when everyone else had to leave their speeder at the door, you walked right on in with yours

(+) Small emergency reactive repulsor cushions falls

(-) Not safetly compatible with other propulsion systems.

(-) Requires special training (RP'ed in 10+ posts)

(-) Quite slow as repulsorlift vehicles go

(-) Quite fragile as vehicles go

(-) Limited power supply gives only five hours of sustained flight

(-) Low vertical ceiling (<200m)

(-) Bad luck, crosswinds, birds or inexperience can kill the operator very dead.

(-) May cause complications for, or be complicated by, wearing armor or bulky clothing.

(-) Vulnerable to debris, ion blasts, electric shocks, and EMP, depending on armor suit it is synched to.

(-) Requires pre-existing hardpoints on both hands, both feet (or similar areas, though loss of handling will be sustained) and optional hardpoint on back (helps with greater manuevering and speed) to hook and synch to armor for operation.

The Razorhawk Maneuvering System was initially designed as a wearable emergency maneuvering system for spacers, compatible with the Dragonskin Shipsuit. Designers quickly realized, however, that the Razorhawk could be marketed as a personal entertainment system, bringing (limited) flight to the (wealthy) masses, or even as an aid to construction workers on high-risk vertical projects.

Therein though, ends the history of the Razorhawk and the beginning of Ijaat's efforts to modify it. Designed exclusively for armored flight, the Ca'tra Jair propulsion system operates off not only the suits power pack, but several of the same generators powering Ijaat's Akaan Gota armor.

While not anywhere near an increase in power, the small generators compensate for the increase in weight a typical mandalorian would wear, up to and including power armor. Though the wearer of that kind of suit will experience decreased speeds and handling, obviously how much so is dependant on the exact size of the suit.

Indeed, with the generators on, a typically armored mandalorian will experience the same mobility and speed as the regular Razorhawk system, with lighter scout like variants enjoying a faster speed and mobility (though only minimal, 5-10 kmh tops). The heavier the suit will obviously drop the speed and manuevrability by roughly the same range or more, just as the lighter increases.

The Ca'tra Jair system operates on the same design packs and sheaths as the Razorhawk, but is instead made to go under armor, and thinned out substantially to do so, which results in more cabling. As such, each suit is custom fitted to the wearer and their armor so as to not leave cabling or such exposed, or minimally exposed. It also adds the additional details of repulsors in the backplate of the armor to help stabilize and add thrust to compensate for the increased weight of the armor it is bearing.

Overall, the two systems differing is minor, Ijaat has just bought and modified one for an exclusive purpose, and indeed trying to pilot this without the aid of an A.I. or such to monitor the increased generators and other feedback narratives would prove extremely difficult and render the warrior virtually unable to do anything but focus and operate the system while flying.

Due to the fact that this is nothing more than a repulsor pack and we have had a less advanced one approved during my time, I'll stamp it.

Pending secondary.
