SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Non-magnetic hull
  • Hibridium cloaking device
  • Passive sensor periscope with tightbeam comms and Directed Energy Receptors
  • Gravitic modulator
  • Thrust trace dampers
  • Advanced inertial navigation system
  • Peregrine field disruptor (must decloak to use)
  • Advanced deflector shield generators
Strengths:
Unlike most stygium cloaks, hibridium cloaks permit the cloaked ship to fire weapons. (Due to the double-blind effect, though, the shot needs to be set up just right.)

The non-magnetic hull makes this ship effectively invisible to magnetic sensors. The thrust trace dampers prevent the ship’s ion wake from being traced or easily detected. The gravitic modulator makes this ship invisible to Crystal Gravfield Traps and other mass-detectors. The cloaking device makes this ship invisible to all other sensors. In short, it's got quite a good stealth suite. Pretty much the only things that can detect it reliably are the short-range Angel Eye suite and a big cloud of dust.

The Peregrine field disruptor allows the Castillon to fly through shields, evacuating key assets from besieged worlds or depositing commando teams in enemy hangars. The Peregrine cannot be used while the ship is cloaked.

Weaknesses:
Hibridium cloaks are double-blind. When this ship is cloaked, all the pilot and sensors can see is featureless darkness. Running into things is a real danger. A passive sensor periscope can protrude through the cloaking bubble, but the periscope head can be detected as more than a piece of space junk if the ship maneuvers.

Unlike stygium cloaks, hibridium-cloaked ships will suffer catastrophic damage if they enter or exit hyperspace while cloaked.

Therefore, sensors (including approach/warning sensors, reversion sensors, and gemcutters) can detect this ship for the moments between reversion and the activation of its cloaking device.

The passive sensor periscope is restricted by speed-of-light delays. For example, if the Castillon exits hyperspace several light-hours away from a planet, beyond possibility of reversion detection, its passive sensors will only be able to get a general idea of ship traffic from several hours before.

The Castillon has no weapons that can make a serious dent on capital ships, making it useless for all but the most precise sneak attacks in a fleet situation. It's no stealth bomber.

DESCRIPTION
The Castillon was named for [member="Delila Castillon"], a founder of the first modern Rebel Alliance - the predecessor of the Underground and the Coalition. This transport derived and evolved from Sekairo stealth craft, which the Underground captured from the Lords of the Fringe at several points. Unlike the Sekairo, the Castillon is essentially invisible to magnetic scans, but uses a double-blind hibridium cloak.

The Castillon, like the Sekairo, is designed to carry a couple of dozen soldiers, a tank or two, special cargoes, etc. It's a multipurpose infil/exfil workhorse that can waltz past almost any sensor known to science. Otherwise, its capabilities are nothing special.

1) I can't see the image, just the source. Is this deliberate?

2) please adjust to be in line with the current factory rule:

Particularly rare or powerful special features may necessitate using a lower production (for example, cloaking technology, gemcutters, crystal grav traps, equivalent stealth or anti stealth technologies, or rare canon technologies and their equivalents will only be permitted at Semi Unique production)
