PERSONALITY:
Cassia tends to be calm and collected, unless she becomes very frustrated or upset. She is generally a pleasant person, and likes social interaction. She has a very curious nature, and has a drive to seek knowledge. Like many teens, she's very headstrong and struggling to find her true identity.
APPEARANCE:
Standing average height, she is a bit on the thin side. Cass is easily recognized by her intense blue eyes and brown hair. She wears simple clothing, usually hand-me-downs from her older siblings.

BIOGRAPHY:
Cassia was adopted shortly after birth and has no information about her birth mother or father. She was adopted by Layla and Corbet Edric, they couldn't have children of their own, so they filled their house with adopted and foster children. Corbet owns a large amount of acreage on Bestine, and runs a family farm. Their family is a regular vendor at the open air markets of Bestine, often traveling from town to town. Their family was not poor by any means, but if they wanted money they had to work hard to earn it. Cass and her siblings started working in the fields at young ages to help the family.
Cassia has always been curious about her birth parents, but she pretends that it is of little interest to her. She has only questioned Layla and Corbet once or twice about them, but each time she was met with the story that her birth mother had been young, and her birth father could not be there to support them. Most of her childhood she was the youngest and the smallest of the brood, she learned that being loud and bossy was a way to fend off any teasing.
She attended standard schools but often struggled to make acceptable marks due to her low attention span and lack of enthusiasm about the subjects. On her 18th birthday she decided to drop out and support the farm full time with her parents. Cass is force sensitive, she is aware but untrained. While on a search for her roots, she happened upon a letter written by her mother. In the letter is states that she wished for Cassia to join the Daughters of Allya, as she had done. Unfortunately, the letter was unsigned, but gave Cass a strong tie to her unknown mother.

The King of Bestine and Cassia's mother had been in a relationship before his marriage had been arranged to the Queen. Their relationship continued even after he was married, but it always caused her mother great stife. When she became pregnant with Cassia, she decided that she would leave Bestine to avoid coming between the royal family any longer. The King requested that Cass remain on Bestine, but due to the complications an illegitimate child would bring to the royal family, it was agreed upon that Cass would be adopted by a local family.
There is little evidence of Cassia's relationship to the Matumaini family, but there is a small provision in the King's will that states Cassia Edric is to receive a small monetary fortune, a letter, and an amulet (that belonged to her birth mother).
