Captivity

Everything since Onderon was taken by the Sith had been so blurry. Cecily remembered bits and pieces of her experience in captivity alongside the citizens of her planet, but she could not quite fit them all together. Waking moments of torture, seeing someone in her state gown executed in the public square of Onderon, flashes of dark faces taunting her as she hung from her wrists in the Palace Dungeons of Iziz.

When the Sith invaded, she coordinated the evacuation of as many Onderon citizens and Republic personnel as possible. It was she who ensured the safety of the Royal Family and many important delegates, including the administration of the University of the Galactic Republic who had been reluctant to leave. Her own Ministry of State staff had just made it past the blockade when her personal residence was breached and she was taken into custody.

Cecily had fully expected to be executed in full view of the citizenry. She had been a symbol of hope for many in the Republic, what better way to snuff out their light? But she was also a valuable font of knowledge. She kept many state secrets and security information regarding the Republic and the Sith were hard pressed to extract them. Since her encounter with darkness, she had developed an incredible resistance to the power of the dark side and though they tortured her endlessly, anything short of the Dark Lord himself would find themselves unable to crack her at full strength.

So she was starved, beaten, forced to watch droves of her own people put to death, all because she refused to speak. She was a ghost of her former self, but her resolve remained strong. Her light had not been diminished. That didn't mean they would stop trying.
