The Nightshadow drifted around in the orbit of Commenor. Kei hadn't visted Commenor in years, not since his last visit to the royal palace or whatever it happened to be. That visit wasn't fun, Kay had just turned to the darkside and refused to listen to reason. Kei had left his lightsaber with her, promising that he would return once she was free from the darkness that had held her captive.

The starfighter flew through the Commenorian atmosphere slowly. It was a one man fighter, easier to control than the shuttles. Kei preferred the shuttles, but they were difficult to fly with just one person. Instead, the starfighter was more useful. Kei toyed with a few controls, almost upset he didn't get to show off. He needed to blend in, he needed to at least pretend to follow the laws.

He flipped yet another control. He needed to open a coms channel to actually find out where he was going. He waited for a few moments, just cruising in one specific direction before he got some mumbled response over the coms. He raised an eyebrow, before realising that he'd tuned into the wrong channel. He was an idiot sometimes, he knew it but he liked to reaffirm.

He tuned into the correct channel, sighing.

"Yeah, ugh. This is The Starfighter N07789 of The Nightshadow. The pilot is question is Kei Raxis. I'm currently looking for clerance and directions to the home of the Queen, she will know who I am"

Had the memory of [member="Kei Raxis"] suffered that badly that he couldn't remember where to go or what channels to access? A lot probably happened for him between his last visit and now. His name and voice were recognized and verified even though the fighter that he was piloting wasn't. Kay was informed of his impending arrival shortly thereafter, to which she had instructed that he be sent the co-ordinates for the Royal Palace's landing pad.

Kay's own memories had returned a little while ago, with the help of Veiere, although they were muddled. He said it was like two different lives converged into one and sorting through it would take time, so she wasn't supposed to push it. She was rather annnoyed with it though.

It only took minutes for her to step out of her office and make her way outside. She wanted to be there to greet him and see what it was that he was that he had wanted. With Kei it was never really just a visit to say hi. There was always something more involved.

As his fighter came into land, Kay stood nearby with her hands clasped in front of her. Hopefully this wasn't going to be a visit that she would dread.

It had been a long few years. Kei receieved the directions and he quickly plotted the safest course across the busy planet to the home of his friend. His fingers danced across the controls. He enjoyed flying, he felt at home. Everything felt so familer to him while he was flying, it was almost like he knew what every button did. He could make the ship do anything he wanted it to do, other than grow legs.

Technically it even did that.

Kei guided the ship down onto the landing pad slowly. He sat there for a few seconds before powering down the engines. He could feel a presence, one that he hadn't felt in a long time. [member="Lady Kay"] was close. He couldn't feel the darkness that had tormented her, it was entirely possible that she had shook the grasp of the darkside of the force and regained her place in the light. If the stories were true, if Kay had married that Jedi then it was completely plausable.

Kei climbed from the ship, tossing his helmet and flight jacket onto the chair. He felt weird without his leather jacket, but the flight jacket was more safe and safe was good. He spotted his host, the Queen of Commenor. She was good, Kei could feel it in the force. He really ought to start visiting just to say hello more often, it was something he didn't do with many people. He had a plan for everything.

He took a bow to the queen.

"M'lady. It has been too long. I'm glad to feel the presence of the light within you once more"

Kay watched as [member="Kei Raxis"] seemed to take his time after landing to disembark from his fighter. Something must really be on his mind. She bowed her head as he approached, raising a brow slightly at the words that he spoke. He seemed to have forgotten that she kept her abilities a secret. At least they were alone.

"When one is abducted and tortured for as long as I was, it can take you to a dark place. But thank you. It's good to have hope again." She gestured for him to follow her. Instead of just going to her office like normal, Kay led him to the gardens. At least there they could chat more openly.

Kei wasn't one to talk about being amongst the Light anyways. He had been at odds with her many times, working against her and hunting her down when she was a Senator. Now he came with a sudden arrogance as though he had done no evil in his life. "Is this just a friendly visit? Or do you have something on your mind?"

Kei had never really been at odds with the queen. If anything he'd always really worked with her. He thought back to the first time they'd met, Dromund-Kaas many years back. Kei flew the senator home to Commenor. Then again, when Kay rescused him from his depressing life on Kesh. Then again when he was apart of her security detail. He'd finally tried to save her from the clutches of the Darkside when she'd turned, resulting in him leaving his best creation with her.

He'd done a little evil, but nothing major.

Kei followed the Queen out into the gardens, studying her softly. She hadn't really changed over the years. Kei had changed though, the long hair and foofy beard probably being the most obvious. It made him wonder how people could go for so long and just hardly change. Kei had found a single grey hair only days before, he knew full well that he was changing and he wasn't overly sure that he accepted the change either.

Could you fight old age?

"Both, m'lady. I left a posession with you the last time I visited, having vowed to return to collect it once whatever darkness had grasped you had left. I also wanted to see how you were doing, being Queen is a stressful job. At least I haven't heard reports of a war while I've been away"

People change, whether just in appearance or deep inside. It was inevitable. It was as much a part of life as death was. So the fact that [member="Kei Raxis"] had grown out his hair and aged like normal didn't need to be pointed out.

Kay's eyes were back to normal, no longer showing the signs of Darkness, however the weight of a troubled life would always be present within them. And then of course was her baby bump. The gowns that she wore (when she had to be out of her office) were loosefitting now in order to keep her more comfortable. She had never been pregnant before, hadn't been around others that were, so all of it was new and unknown to her.

"I have your weapon hidden away for safekeeping. I didn't want to risk it being stolen. As for myself, I'm doing alright. Ruling is stressful, but I have some help at least. And you're right, we've had no wars. Only a few small attacks that were quickly dealt with. We have no enemies still, which has only been a good thing for us." All the while that she spoke, her head was facing forward to view the path that they were walking on. But afterwards, she looked over at him as she addressed him. "What have you been up to since your last visit?"

Kei smiled when Kay said she was doing well. He was glad that she hadn't really been attacked. She deserved a break and Kei guessed the last three years had been some form of break. There was never a real break when you were the queen, although Kei had a to assume. He studied Kay for a few moments. Was she pregnent? No-one wanted to be accused of calling a queen fat, so he decided not to mention it. Instead he shook his head.

"I haven't done much. Recently started working with The Jedi Order on Deneba. Otherwise, I've had a slow few years. Invested in a new ship that has an awesome crew. Built a temporary lightsaber and continued my training"

Kay raised a brow as [member="Kei Raxis"] spoke of working with the Jedi on Deneba. The Force works in mysterious ways. She wondered if he knew of her own connection to that Jedi Order. "You work with the Jedi on Deneba? You must know my husband then, [member="Veiere Arenais"] ."

It was good that he seemed to be having a life with little troubles. Of course Kay had kept out a lot of her own events. These days it was hard to pick out who to tell what. None of her friends were the same type of people. Everyone walked different paths of life.

"I will give you back your lightsaber. But on one condition....." Kay let that hang in the air. Her face appeared neutral, but her eyes showed him a hint of amusement.

Conditions...?

Kei liked conditions. Conditions were fun. Most of them were normally fun. Extremely fun conditions added challenges. Kei studied Kay once again, noting the little hint of amusement in her eyes. It cheered him up even more. It was a look in his eyes that she was willing to play around and Kei was okay with that. The conditions were probably something to do with babysitting.

He was okay with that.

"What conditions?"

"Simply that you'll have to visit more often."

No doubt she'll be stuck at the Palace for a while once she gets closer to her due date, and then afterwards once the child was born. Bonding time was crucial she was told, and she didn't want to be an absent parent.

"I'll need another set of eyes and ears to keep me updated with what's going on in the Galaxy. Not everything of importance gets broadcasted on the holo-news." Indeed there were plenty of things that happened that were deemed unimportant by most of the Galactic powers. Such as whatever the CSA was up to. In a way, it was a blessing to not be in the spotlight at all.

Kei shrugged.

"Visiting isn't an issue. However, I don't know about being another set of eyes. It's unknown to me if I shall be travelling the galaxy with my current commitments to the order. Should I learn of anything, you shall be the first person I tell"

It was true what he said. He had settled down with the order and it was unknown to him how much traveling across the galaxy he would be doing. It was possible he would be able to report to Kay with new stuff every week, it was also probable that he'd never learn anything because he never had chance to leave the planet.

He grinned.

"If, however, you need a babysitter"

Kay nodded. She knew full well of what it was like to not know what the future held. She had even seen a fortune teller once. Her future was like a fog, he had said, big confrontations were inevitable, but who and on what basis couldn't be determined.

"Thank you Kei. Telling either myself or Veiere would be fine." More than likely after her child was born, she was going to be even further out of the loop than [member="Kei Raxis"] was.

She laughed as he suggested babysitting for her. "Have you had much experience with infants?" Kay honestly couldn't recall if he had any siblings.

He had no experience with children.

He had no siblings and the rest of his family were all big grown up men and women. He chuckled slightly, shaking his head. He wouldn't be great babysitter, he was clumsy. He lost most things he owned, he was more than prepared to lose a child. It was why he never wanted to be a parent, he would lose the child or the child's favorite toy and then he'd have to put up with lots of tears and sadness. He hated crying babies.

"If I said no, would that reflect badly on me?"

He smiled, shaking his head. He enjoyed spending time with Kay, it just hardly ever happened. Neither of them had any time for social calls, Kei was working or Kay was working or Kei was off in bad guy space to fight the bad men.

Bad men do bad things.

Kay smirked as [member="Kei Raxis"] informed her that he had no experience. That wasn't surprising to her in the slightest. She laughed, but not so much at his answer, but moreso for the answer that she was giving him next. "Not at all. I've got no experience with infants either. I've never even held one." It was true, she never had. When [member="Bradshaw Ku"] and his sister came into her life, they were already at the respectful ages of 8 and 5 standard years. So all of the diaper changes and late night feedings were missed completely.

As far as she was aware, Veiere didn't have any experience either.
