Orvax IV - The Outer Rim
Good people were hard to find this far into the Outer Rim. Even less so on Orvax IV, a planet historically known for its reputation as one of the leaders in the slave trade. So as the Jedi, Ran Serys, made her way through the crowds of the slave market she made sure to navigate with caution. All around sentients were haggling and arguing over price and quality of people as if they were objects. Ran had grown up as a slave of sorts and the environment sickened her, moreso after becoming a free woman.
As she averted her eyes from the sight of slave after slave she continued down the paths of the market. She was in search of a rare sort. A former Sith slave and experiment just like her, Subject 20. Subject 20 was a Nautolan, but just like Ran and the other subjects she was strong in the force and was trained and augmented to be an elite paramilitary commando. For her to remain a slave after the Death of the Sith Lord who had manipulated their minds meant she had been captured by someone or many someones with the skill and equipment to keep her at the very least locked away, or at the most mentally broken. Her price tag would be large and not likely sold on the street at a common slave market. Ran needed to find a private auction, the right private auction. On a planet like Orvax IV that was easier said than done.
She followed her instincts, and talked to the right people. She found that bribery would get her everywhere in a crowd like that. Slavers were quick to make a credit if their merchandise wasn't selling. So armed with information given by desperate and lesser men. She found a starship that was said to be holding the slave she spoke of. Before she would act, Ran would gather all the information she could. So in the shadows of the spaceports of Orvax IV she hid and watched the Corellian-made starship. She'd watch for it's owner, a shipment of slaves, grunt workers, anything that could point her towards confirming Subject 20 was on the ship, or at least once was.
