Description:
The Bulwark P.S.E. Mark One is an advanced three stage shield emitter, which incorporates an energy barrier, a thermal barrier and a kinetic barrier. Each barrier is able to be activated individually, potentially extending the lifespan of the power cells required to operate the device.

On it's default setting the Bulwark is only able to dissipate incoming energy attacks, i.e. blaster bolts or lightsaber blades. This setting has the lowest power demands and is able to remain active for a considerable amount of time, one hour. Of course as the energy barrier is struck, more power is required to maintain the barrier. This setting is able to absorb, or dissipate, roughly one hundred (100) bolts from a standard blaster rifle or heavy blaster pistol. If the shield has been left active for extended periods of time, without replacing the power cell, it will not be able to withstand it's predicted number of direct hits.

The second setting incorporates a thermal energy barrier. This thermal barrier is designed to redirect excessive heat across the surface of the shield, preventing potential harm to the user inside the protective dome. This barrier is designed specifically with weapons such as flamethrowers and thermal detonators in mind. The second layer of defense has a noticeable drain on the lifespan, reducing the un-strained operational time to forty five (45) minutes. Under duress the shield is able to dissipate about seventy (70) direct hits from a typical blaster rifle or ten (10) close blasts from a thermal detonator. This thermal barrier also comes with the inherent risk of cooking the user alive should a thermal detonator pass through the shield before detonation, trapping the blast inside the shield.

The final layer of defense, and the layer with the highest power consumption, is the kinetic barrier. On this setting the average lifespan of the power cell is drastically reduced to roughly twenty five (25) minutes with a full charge. Additionally the ability to dissipate incoming energy weapons is hampered to about fifty (50) direct hits from the typical blaster rifle. On this setting the thermal barrier is also less resilient, only able to deflect blasts from about five (5) thermal detonators. There is however a benefit to this final setting. The kinetic barrier is able to deflect a tremendous amount of shrapnel from slug thrower rounds to flechettes and even the debris from fragmentation grenades. The effectiveness of this barrier varies widely depending on the type of objects deflected but some things are fairly predictable. The shield is able to deflect about eighty (80) heavier rifle rounds, i.e. 7.62mm rounds, and able to survive ten (10) close detonations from the average fragmentation grenade.

Factory judges will ask you to remove the direct amount of hits it can take and have it be more ambiguous since chaos mostly doesn't run off those kinds of stats

Well that's why I keep using "roughly" and "about", to give an idea of the strength without a finite number. But I see you're point. Any suggestions as to what to put in their place?
