Building Raven Power Armor

Colap rubbed his eyes as he worked over his power armor suit. He had already assembled most of the suit. It was a large blue shell of durasteel and mechanical servos with a small power cell reactor. That was the beauty of his life on the rack and he intended to make her fully operational. His only problem was the programming of the servos.

From a few cranes and various other machinery his astute mind had come up with a matrix of mechanical servos and hydraulic pipes that could move great strength. In the last few weeks he had assembled them perfectly so that the user could step into the suit and move a series of controls in the arms to move the fingers and arms. The legs had pedals that stepped forwards backwards and did a variety of functions.

"Damn power armor, what’s the missing key to you, why wont you work?"

He had the reactor, he had the technology, he sensed that Cryax had an answer however. A small software program was certainly warranted to make the pieces work. In addition he still needed to add the Photo-receptive fibre and the Reflec.

Working with Colap Ticon was not always an easy task. The man was demanding and full of snark, and when he was in a bad mood, well, Cryax liked to give him a wide berth. But today that wasn't happening. The Chiss had been asked to develop some software for a project for Ticon, and he was working closely with the man on a power armor prototype for the Red Ravens.

He sat at one of the Shadowport's computer hubs, his glowing red eyes studying the prototype. "What the suit needs is some mesh networking. Duh." The Chiss turned around towards the computer and started coding, talking as his fingers typed. "What I'm going to do is rewire the suit's existing network to allow for continous connection and reconfiguration around broken or blocked paths. I use a self-healing algorithim for this. When one node breaks down or becomes unreliable, it self-heals to enable the path to route to a different destination."

He looked at Colap and smiled. "It's kinda basic stuff actually."

Colap nodded as he picked up two different types of metal and held them up to the light. One refelcted it back and the other sort of absorbed it. Together they would make some distortion which would be usefull for more stealthy encounters. As Cryax laid out his bare-bones layman’s knowledge he winked, letting more smoke escape.

"Ok geek. I'ma be over here casting some new armor plating to put on the exterior."

He walked over to his forge, and began to smelt down the various metals needed. The forge burned hot and he began to sweat as he leaned back against a workbench, letting it do it's thing.

Cryax shook his head. You didn't have to be a geek to understand elastic computer modeling. The Chiss continued to work on his software in uncomfortable silence. After a while, the lack of conversation made him itchy, so he ventured a few questions.

"So what are these babies going to be tricked out with? Myoflex? A macrobinocular vision sensor system? A repulsorlift engine?" He grinned. "Grenade launchers?"

"Hmm I was partial to putting nano missile launchers on the shoulders. What you think?"

The metal alloys were beginning to pour into the molds now, driven by machine arms and droids working tirelessly. In a few minutes the metal would be cast into it's shape for the plates and then Colap could weld it on. He glanced over to Cryax, whom he had saved many times and laughed.

"So how'd them legs heal after the ol brawl with the suns. That sewer hole probably stank huh!"
