The BTL-Q5 “Stormhammer” is a dedicated heavy fighter, prioritizing durability and payload over maneuverability. It comprises half of Koensayr’s modernization of the Y-Wing concept, taking the best aspects of the Y-Wing’s heavy fighter role. The hull’s simplicity offers the potential for aftermarket customization and modification, on a par with the CloakShape or the average CEC light freighter. Stock, the BTL-Q5 is nothing exceptional, but its increased specialization over the original Y-Wing design has earned it a respected place in the Republic navy. In terms of structural survivability, the Q5 is superior to any starfighter in the Republic’s arsenal. However, its slowness makes it vulnerable to standard line fighters and especially interceptors.
