Description:
This weapon was designed on a simple basis, to bring the utility of a lightsaber into a blaster. Obviously the staple weapons of both Jedi and Sith are both complex, and require knowledge of the force to properly utilize. Alric however, being intensely interested in Jedi weapons since childhood, and understanding that there was something uniquely powerful about them decided that with his new acquisition of Blas-Tech he finally had the capacity to produce a weapon that would derive similar effects to the Lightsaber.

The BTI-HPP was built on this concept, to create a Blaster Pistol that would allow for the same general strength and power of a lightsaber, in a blaster.

Obviously, instead of creating a static blade, the BTI-HPP creates powerful shots of plasma, similar to what a lightsaber projects but instead thrown out of the blaster. This is accomplished through the use of the same powercell that a lightsaber utilizes, mainly the Diatium Power Cell. These cells though expensive, provide and incredible amount of power and energy. This power is in the form of plasma, with the BTI-HPP then packs in tightly with a magnetic insulator, similar to what keeps regular blaster bolts together, albeit far more powerful.

This charged shot of plasma acts just like a lightsaber, with one great exception. The magnetic insulator surrounding the plasma is incredibly easy to destabilize and break apart. This is done on purpose. When the Plasma bolt strikes a surface, the magnetic insulator breaks apart, causing the plasma to “splash” across whatever it struck. Plasma usually sitting around the temperature of the nearby sun, usually burns through any material, Durasteel, Skin, and even heavier metals that it strikes.

This means the BTI-HPP can be used like a lightsaber, the weapon can be pointed at say a Blast door and through repeated shots can eat through the metal, on average it takes about 5 shots to go through the average blast door. This of course means that the BTI-HPP can be incredibly dangerous when utilize in confined spaces like on Star Ships or in space stations.

Obviously since the BTI-HPP is derived from lightsaber technologies, metals such as Phrik, Ultrachrome, and Beskar are oddly immune to the heavy Plasma round. That being said, when the plasma splashes onto a targets armor, it is possible for the super heated material to seep through gaps or spaces in the armor, burning through bodysuit and flesh in a matter of seconds.

Blocking the Plasma bolt with a lightsaber is highly inadvisable. When the bolt strikes a lightsaber the magnetic field around the bolt is broken in an odd way and causes the bolt to “explode” with the plasma expanding outward rapidly from the overcharge of energy from the lightsaber, causing the super heated material to go everywhere, quickly doing quite a bit of damage before cooling.

As well, the magnetic insulation around the plasma charge only last for a specific amount of time, that means that the projectile unlike for slugthrowers and most blasters cannot go beyond its extended range. This range is set at seventy five meters, after this point the magnetic insulation will dissipate and the plasma will be loosed, this usually means the glob will spread apart, becoming less effective if not entirely useless.

The one draw back of this weapon is that it is incredibly expensive to produce. The Materials that go into it are outlandishly expensive and the Power Cells that render the weapon so strong are equally expensive. Though Blas-Tech has more than enough money to produce such things, these weapons are most definitely a niche market and as such are only being produced in limited numbers as of now.

The Diatium power Cells themselves are themselves expensive and rather difficult to produce. Luckily, the Power Cells have been around for centuries so the method of their production is no difficulty, it is simply expensive. As such the Power Cells are sold with the weapons and Blas-Tech takes custom orders to supply more.

After reviewing this submission in detail and mulling over the submission itself along with the development thread created for it, I'm afraid I have no choice but to deny this submission for the following reasons:

To start off with, this is a weapon that fires lightsaber blades. That alone is a hefty and OPed concept that was denied earlier in the Factory's history. However, this submission goes further to state that the bolts fired from this weapon 'splash' against a target or explode against lightsabers. Arguably, that means any kind of magnetic field will cause it to explode as well.

This means that when the plasma hits a target, it immediately burns through whatever the target is wearing. Yes, it has little to no effect against beskar, phrik, and other lightsaber resistant materials, but the submission clearly states that the plasma will find gaps and unprotected areas in the armor and burn through in seconds. This means even class 10 armors are defenseless against this weapon depending on the impact site and type of armor. Against lightsabers, the plasma bolt explodes and sends plasma in all directions. While this can end badly for the weapon user, it primarily puts the defender in a cloud of lightsaber-strength plasma meaning that there is virtually zero chance to escape. Normally, I'm inclined to say that that would be their problem, but even the most devastating weapons tend to have some sort of out in the event the defender wants to take the hit, but not die in the process.

Also, the weapon's weaknesses do not offset the weapon's powerful abilities stated above. Your two weaknesses are limited range and cost. The production levels support the costs, but despite this, as soon as its on the market you'll have folks clamoring for these in ones, twos, and dozens along with supply contract requirements which will lead to the weapon becoming far more than limited production availability. The range itself is only slightly above the range of most sidearms as well, meaning that neither of these weaknesses are really... weaknesses.

In short, you're firing a lightsaber blade at people that can't be effectively blocked, stopped, or deflected whose weaknesses are a 75m range and expensive costs. This will end up being used on someone and be reported once that person understands just what's been fired at them which will more than likely lead to the submission being denied retroactively. My suggestion is to use this as a learning experience and branch out into disruptor weapons or perhaps disintegrators, maybe even other types of plasma weaponry. You will have more success there, I believe.

And, as always, please feel free to second chance this submission.
