Jae didn't glance back when she heard the ramp closing after her as she entered onto the Dauntless. Entering the cock-pit she placed a hand on Andorreth's shoulder and squeezed gently, partly to greet and announce her arrival and let him know she were here but also as a subtle reminded that she was here. Here with him and here for him. She had yet to learn what would unfold in the mission but she had a good guess it wasn't going to be as easy as any other mission they'd gone on for Andorreth. She knew it involved his brother and going after the one who assassinated him. So she wanted Andorreth to know he had her.
She smiled when he turned to face her, listening as he proceeded in telling her a few things. She had no concerns about the mission, though if there was one thing she was secretly a little cautious about was meeting his adoptive mother. She didn't quite know what to expect from her and not only was she curious about the 'tests' but also to how Seras may react to her, given the time Seras and Andorreth would have spent together. Whatever the outcome may be Jae was more than happy to meet the woman.
Jae nodded her head in understanding, knowing from the moment Andorreth had mentioned the mission to her that she would need to kill people, he would need to kill people. And she was ready for that. She knew Andorreth had a score to settle with this assassin who'd turned his life upside down in a matter of mere moments, and Jae would gladly oblige in helping him achieve that. "Andorreth, you don't need to worry about me. I'm ready for whatever Corellia and that assassin plan to throw at us." She replied, smiling a small and comforting smile, "Besides, how are we going to keep things between us interesting if you don't keep surprising me?" She asked in response to him mentioning she'd be shocked at how precise and methodical he'd be, her eyes sparkling gently as she tried to lighten up the mood.
She watched as he took her hand to his chest and she could have sworn her heart skipped a beat as she heard the words that fell out of his mouth. She knew they were close, more than close. But hearing him say it, those exact words. It hit her like a tonne of bricks. She smiled at him and leaned closer towards him, sharing a simple but sweet kiss with him before parting, "I love you too." She replied, looking up to his eyes before leaning back in her chair, "And of course I'm always here, you ain't getting rid of me that easily." She said smirking.
