Name: Bristlebark Cave

Planet: Naboo

Nexus Alignment: Dark

Nexus Effects: Bristlebark Cave is not hugely exceptional so far as Dark Side vergences go. Much like a certain cave on Dagobah, it’s a place where a powerful Sith died violently. The Force is strong there, but one’s more likely to experience visions than empowerment. A Darksider would find it a good place to meditate, gather power, regain strength, even practice alchemy -- and woe betide a Jedi who gets in a fight there.

Size: Area - A small location on a world much like the dark grove or oasis that can be destroyed by people. May require a Dev thread at the Judge’s discretion.

Development Threads: 10-post equivalency from map index participation reward

Description: Bristlebark Cave is located five hundred kilometres north of Theed, in a coniferous forest. It appears on certain obscure maps, but after a convenient rock fall closed the nearest paths permanently some fifteen years ago, nobody has really gone up that way. The path offers other, better caves and destinations that don’t make hikers feel bitterly cold.

The main entrance is about half an hour’s walk from the abandoned trail, up in some narrow crevasses. A lower entrance is hidden behind a large boulder. The cave spans thirty vertical metres, enough to require climbing apparatus or training in the Force, but not enough to be notable. Caves exactly like this can be found all over most planets; there’s nothing exceptional in the geology.

The Force nexus centers on a side chamber that’s easily missed, about ten minutes’ descent from the main entrance. There’s a gap in the ceiling, a narrow chimney leading up about five metres. The chamber is oblong and regular, around five to eight metres tall and perhaps ten metres across. It’s large enough for a lightsabre duel. Funny enough, there are sabre scars on the rocks.

On occasion, Living Fire may manifest in Bristlebark Cave.

Origins/History: It’s a fairly straightforward story. Hidden Dark Lord takes up residence on her ancestral homeworld, by nefarious means, and settles in for the long game. Less subtle Dark Lord arrives in town, jeopardizing certain arrangements pertaining to Dark Lord number one. Dark Lord number one arranges for Dark Lord number two to discover a purported ancient map leading to a place of power. Dark Lord number two seeks it out and finds Dark Lord number one. Dark Lord number two never leaves.

Intent: Every closeted Forcer needs a place of power. This is a nice little spot where Ashin/Ajira can meditate and practice -- and that isn’t tied to her if it’s discovered.

Links: Basically just a lesser version of the Dagobah cave.
