STRENGTHS
  • Corusca Gem
The Corusca Gem is a rare and valuable crystal that, when used in a lightsaber emits a powerful blade that is said to be able to, '...slice through transparisteel like a laser goes through Sullustan jam.'
  • Pressure Grip
The pressure grip detects when the user is no longer holding onto the lightsaber and will automatically deactivate. This can be useful in the case of accidents, mishaps, or aid with style choice during combat.
  • Bifurcating Cyclic-Ignition Pulse
Due to this particular modification, Briana is able to still use her lightsaber while underwater.
  • Songsteel
The metal used in the lightsabers hilt design is resistant to lightsaber blades, making it able to withstand blows from other sabers without breaking.
WEAKNESSES
  • Corusca Gem
Despite their purported strength, Corusca Gems are rather delicate and possess multiple edged shatterpoints.
  • Cortosis
This high energy absorption metal will make the blade short circuit.
  • Pressure Grip
With no locking mechanism, whoever picks up this blade will be able to use it and possibly turn it against the owner.
  • Ion Pulse
Direct ion pulses/EMP attacks can cause certain components within the blade to be knocked out of commission, specifically in relation to the installed Bifurcating Cyclic-Ignition Pulse.

Turning from the brutal execution she'd just witnessed, the presence of a Jedi Master she knew all too well stalked into view.

Valery.

The scene vanished as suddenly as it'd come on, leaving a sweating Briana scrambling backwards. A rush of blood burned in her ears, heart thrumming wildly as if she'd just run several laps around the Praxeum on Ossus. Her senses started coming back to her, the images she'd witnessed slowly growing quieter, fading into white noise in the background. The cylinder she'd held in her hands lay dropped on the ground near her booted feet. With a steadying breath she reached forwards and took it in hand again - gently brushing away what she could only surmise as being hundreds of years worth of dirt and grime. The shine was long gone and obvious scorch marks were worn over its surface. Flipping it in her hands, she felt a warm surge.

"This was Valery's lightsaber." - Briana Sal-Soren to Iris Arani on New Cov

The lightsaber that Briana now calls her own once belonged to the Jedi Master and Council Member, Valery Noble, who lost it sometime before the Battle of Onderon during the years of the Old Republic. It was discovered by Briana at the Jedi Temple of New Cov during efforts made to restore the old Temple. With Valery's blessing Briana kept the ancient saber, taking the time to painstakingly restoring it to its original glory with a few personal twists, including the cosmetic addition of orichalc in the ornate carvings - a popular metal used by the Queen's of Naboo, in homage to her heritage.

In addition to some of the new upgrades, including the bifurcating byclic-ignition pulse and the pressure grip she installed to help her in various situations she may find herself in as a Jedi, Briana also traded out the original material of the hilt for songsteel in an effort to better protect the delicate Corusca Gem that it houses inside.
