Weight: 183 lbs/ 83 kg

Occupation: Imperial Intelligence Field Agent

Background: Surgical Corps (14 yrs)

Species: Human (Core Worlder)

Home planet: Anaxes

Physical description: Varko possesses a deceptive, wiry frame that prioritizes on his strength to mass ratio. To the normal observer or when he is in clothes, he might look lanky and uncoordinated. However, beneath his clinical or in some cases, local or formal attires, lies the high-density musculature of a man trained in high-stakes combat and surgical precision. He looks normal and unassuming in clothes. He moves with a disturbing lack of wasted motion, possessing a grip strength that contradicts his unassuming silhouette. He has a "Surgical Glide"—a walk that is unnervingly smooth and level, as if he is sliding across the floor rather than stepping, unlike many regular people when they walk, their heads would slightly bob and change levels, but while Brendan walks, his head remains at the same plane. He has a very reptilian gait.

Personality:

Brendan is not naturally charismatic, extroverted or good with people. He is the opposite. He is socially awkward in many occasions, but he is good at mimicry, and has adopted a laid-back and almost bored demeanor, this is because he knows that to get close to a target, he needs to appear relaxed, normal, and someone who can be trusted. Brendan is somewhat good at deadpan and dry humor.
He possesses a level of emotional coldness that detaches him from impulsive thoughts like anger or acute panic, though it is not a complete lack of emotion, it is still an asset, but Brendan is not always this calm, composed and mechanical, sometimes his human side might occasionally reveal under certain dangerous or desperate circumstances. Brendan still has some feelings like empathy for the ones close to him, like his brother Kallan. One of Brendan's most biggest mental weakness is his lack of Emotional Intelligence, which makes him poor at activites like socializing and manipulation. His parents, Cillian Varko, and Elara Varko, were in highly respected positions. Cillian was an Imperial Navy Captain, and his mother, Elara Varko, was a Lieutenant in the Imperial Surgical Division.

Biography:

Ages (0-6): Brendan's earliest memories are not of toys, but of the smell of antiseptic and the faint hum of a medical droid. Growing up on a high-security Imperial Navy installation, his environment was like a curated vacuum. His father, Cillian Varko, occassionally visited his sons and his wife. Cillian spent most of his time with Kallan, and Elara spent most of her time with Brendan. Brendan was groomed by his mother from a very young age to be a successful surgeon like her. Both Cillian and Elara prioritized heavily on lineage and career more than affection or a better childhood.

Ages (7-17): By the time Brendan entered the Imperial Youth preparatory programs, he was a social anomaly. Brendan had joined the shockball team (not for the teamwork feel, but it was rather a way for him to develop an understanding of how other people work together in many different ways, i.e, a way to develop his lagging emotional intelligence and also for physical training) and also learnt some of the aspects of Stava during those years, he was an intermediate athlete, despite spending most of his time in vivisections and cadaver labs for learning Chemical stimulants, Xenopathology and Pharmacology.

Ages (18-32): After Brendan fast tracked through his education and medicine and then after he graduates, he was commissioned into the Imperial Surgical Corps at an unprecedented age. Brendan had to do various kinds of things in the span of his 14 years in Surgical Corps, from operating with fellow frontline soldiers as Combat Medic, to later becoming a specialist and creating weapons for biological warfare. One specific work of Brendan, which was made to target a rebel cell unknown to him and all his peers, an advanced cognitive suppressant which was made to be transferred by means of water supply for mental incapacitation, it targetted the neurotransmitters which were specifically responsible long-term memory and problem solving, had caught the attention of a small group of men from the destabilisation unit. Brendan also learnt some useful slicing skills during this time period.

Ages (33-34): When Brendan was in the frontlines in the Axum system minor border dispute as a senior clinical lead member of a forward surgical team, he was deployed just near ground zero, to a field hospital. One day, all the Bacta tanks in his field hospital and the nearest theatre mysteriously started to fail, all medical supplies seemed to be sabotaged by rebels, and suddenly a group of local planetary conscripts in the same side of the battle as Brendan were severely wounded, and stranded, and at the other side, a low-level analyst named "Kols" who had extremely important intel was suffering from grade 5 internal hemorrhaging and was in need of medical support. The forward surgical team with whom all Brendan was working with, had also disappeared seemingly quick, and were not seen. Brendan was confused, panicked even. Brendan immediately went out of his way and abandoned "Medical ethics" and ignored all the 12 critical casualties of local planetary conscripts, and gathered medical supplies and navigated towards the low-level Analyst, everything was off that day. The sabotage was too neat to be rebel activity, and the path to the analyst seemed uncomfortably safe. Brendan treated Analyst Kols, and he received news from Kols himself while he was treating him, that Kols "lost the intel". Brendan still showed no regret for his decision, and continued to perform a "Rapid arrest Hemostasis" to save the analyst, and even used some experimental coagulants which were painful but kept the brain oxygenated so that the analyst would be conscious, because Brendan wasn't going to carry him all the way to safety in case of danger, it was impractical. After the battle had ended with a decisive victory, a Lambda class Imperial shuttle arrived at the location of Analyst and Brendan, and it picked up only him, Kols, and the forward surgical team who were out of sight of Brendan for most the time. Brendan asked many questions to the team, but he wasn't getting any answers. It was a quick journey to the Surgical Corps central hub back on Anaxes. Later when Brendan was asked by a peer about why he didn't save the planetary conscripts, Brendan replied "Soldiers are renewable, Intelligence isn't." After some time, an access agent escorted Brendan into a nondescript office at the secret intelligence wing of the Citadel, where a high-ranking officer said "Your talents are being wasted on basic trauma. The Empire has a more... specialized need for someone with your precision and discretion." And then after that, Brendan travelled to the Raithal academy for further training, then he became a field agent after a battery of tests.

Strengths:

Advanced Xenobiology (Specialist): Brendan possesses extreme knowledge on the human anatomy, and some good knowledge on the anatomy of humans and near humans like Twi'lek, Zabrak, Chiss and Zeltrons. Brendan also knows Rodian anatomy but not as good as he knows the anatomy of other races. Brendan knows very little bit about Wookie bone structure but almost nothing about the specific pressure points and nerves.

High manual dexterity: While not an acrobat, Brendan possesses impeccable fine motor skills as a Veteran Field Surgeon, he possesses the steady hands and the clinical precision required for tasks like suturing small blood vessels without damaging healthy tissue, or even striking the correct studied nerve cluster during combat.

Integrated hybrid CQC style (Stava-Echani): Brendan is trained in the basic Echani, not the one where a person has literal insight to the future, but he rather uses his basic Echani as a defensive tool when it is required, like for a long fight against an opponent who cannot be put down quickly (e.g: A big trandoshan with thick skin and heavy body and armor cannot be put down quickly by Brendan in a CQC scenario.) and also for his counter-attacks. Brendan uses his Stava completely for the offensive and this is the one he uses mostly, he utilizes various joint locks, strangulation holds, trips, clinches, precision strikes etc.

Weaknesses:

Mediocre pilot: Brendan just doesn't have the feel for the stick, and he mostly crashes the ship he's driving.

High performing social anxiety: While trained and even partially competent at tasks like manipulation, he lacks charisma and the natural element required for him to form fake bonds with any targets to get close to them, like planning a coup etc.

Traumatic Brain injury: Brendan and his brother Kallan and Kallan's friends, when they were all in their teenager years, went to a secret minor and unknown underworld Wookie prizefighting club which has a few audience, and was located in Anaxes Perlemian trade route. A wookie child had broken out that day, and it assaulted several victims viciously. Brendan received a massive blow to the head from the wookie child before it was restrained, and was knocked unconscious. Luckily, the club had some scavenger medical droids and emergency medpacs to administer coagulants and bone stabilizers, but those were most likely black market, and Brendan still suffers some effects from that wound to the present. It might affect his aim, and even his precision in CQC, and many other things. It might even amplify pain and he might fall even if he just received a glancing blow to that area (back of head). It causes minor migraines in unpredictable time, receiving Bacta can control this only temporarily.
