The pistol was specially designed by Antisoch's only manufacturing company and given to a pirate with the nickname "Tor'e" bestowed by the local Sociph. The word "tor" roughly means cannon while the "'e" is a sign of disgust or stupidity. To them his name meant something along the lines of loud-mouth or a cannon that's louder than it is effective and thus a stupid creation. His efficiency went up around the time that he received the modified version of the brek'tor "hand cannon" appropriately nicknamed the "Hullcracker." The section near the front of the barrel is something often attached to mining equipment to pierce through rock and refine metals and gems. When put on an already powerful disruptor it can superheat the plasma released to such a temperature that it can, with effort, melt hulls. Tor'e would utilize it to break through the reinforced glass surrounding cockpits to flush the pilots out.
Nicair was able to acquire the pistol, with some effort and a few burns, after stowing away aboard the pirate's ship and killing the crew while some of them slept. He followed the stories old captains told to find his homeplanet of Antisoch.

- Superheated - the shots from this pistol actually burn hotter than a standard disruptor and can punch through durasteel plate fairly easily, Nicair took this pistol from a pirate who would use it to punch holes in weaker parts of hulls, it would take some time and more shots but it was possible
