Stars erupted into existence through the forward viewports as the Skira-class Battleship exited hyperspace. The massive girth of a Concordance-class Mining Barge filled the port windows. While many aboard the bridge glanced at the larger ship, Rygel Larraq's eyes were focused on the small dot of a planet that peaked out from behind the vessel.
“Is the Sensor Mask online?” Asked Rygel Larraq of his bridge officers.
“Yes Captain. Sensor Mask came online as soon as we dropped into realspace.” Responded one of his junior officers.
“Good. Keep us in the shadow of the Mining Barge. I want this to go smoothly and I'd rather not even have to use the Skira.” Larraq said as he returned to his chair. “The Barge should begin approaching the planet momentarily. Once they begin their approach, use the LOS Communication Suite to contact the Barge. Instruct them to open a dialog with the rulers of Obredaan as soon as they are able. They need to assure the locals that they are a private mining vessel and are looking to acquire a contract to operate in their system.”
Seated in the chair, Larraq flipped through the twelve documents prepared by his team of lawyers as he waited for the game to begin. Talyn, Larraq's pet Vornskr, yawned and licked his lips while the creature lay next to the command chair. In his head, Larraq visualized a pawn moving forward on a chess board as the Concordance began to approach the planet.
