"Much worse," Braze chirped without so much as a moment's thought passing between them.

He wasn't wearing a rebreather, but he finished his meal and moved to wrap the dark cloak around his arms a little tighter. Gold and white Jedi Temple Guard uniforms were kind of noticeable... at least to those who would recognize them.

"Me? No... not from around here... uh, partner," Braze offered simply. Maybe this man didn't know him, nor what had happened in the Core. That was good, and it set his heart at ease. He didn't quite enjoy the paranoia when one was proverbially on the run... Was he on the run? Or was he more just along for the ride, as it were? The line between the two was beginning to blur beyond the point Braze could clearly distinguish anymore.

He briefly thought about Ko Vuto Ko Vuto and Loomi Loomi , wondering how they were doing and how they were coping with what had transpired... He wondered if Zark San Tekka Zark San Tekka survived his bout with Koda Fett Koda Fett too... He hoped his friends and family didn't worry about him or feel bad on his account. A pang of guilt washed over him at the thought. He hadn't spoken to Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el in a while either, and felt bad knowing he must be worried. Why did they always have to worry so much about him? He was capable, wasn't he?

He sighed heavily, huffed out the breath, and slumped a bit in his spot, shifting uncomfortably, as if feeling alien within his own skin.

He hoped that Okuma Milogen Okuma Milogen would come to his senses soon and give up trying to cross the Blackwall that permeated around Sith space.

Braze considered Gavin Restur Gavin Restur curiously once more, looking him over with mild interest, touched by suspicion and caution. "What brings you to these parts... mister?"

There had been a brief squint, taking note of the gold and white robes of the other. He has had an interaction or two with those...what're they called, Jedi Guards? Temple Guards? Whatever they were, their gold and white appearance is pretty distinguishable and unique. Don't they normally wear masks, though?

Regardless, seeing such similar attire on the other, definitely brought along a question or two.

["Me? No... not from around here... uh, partner.]"

"Ah, I see. Seems we're both in an unfamiliar place, then."

["What brings you to these parts... mister?"]

"Well, to be truthful: I'm a bounty hunter. The person I'm after was said to have passed through this planet... this area specifically, actually." There was some motioning, electing to sit himself down more on the bench. Might as well comfortable, if he's going to be talking with this person. "They're already long gone, but I'm meant to meet up with a possible informant on where they could have fled to. There's only a couple of planets they realistically could've went, but if I go to the wrong one, there's a good chance they'll slip away."

"...unfortunately, my informant isn't exactly here yet. So, I'm just waiting for the time being."

It was around now, that he decided to ask that question which had popped up in his mind.

"Though, I just can't help but wonder..." A gloved hand lifted, pointing towards the attire of the other. "Ain't the folk that normally wear these supposed to be just 'round those temples?" While the question itself could be seen in a hostile light (possibly as a disguised threat), his tone insisted otherwise. It was spoken more in the sense of genuine curiosity, instead of something else.

Afterall, he's been trying to make the effort to learn more about the Jedi, considering that it seems they're people he works with at an ever-increasing rate. Might as well try to learn more about the people you work with.

It was true... Braze wasn't wearing his helmeted mask. He listened as he moved to wrap up the rest of his bread and stuffed it into a pouch.

"Sounds like your informant might be playing with you if they aren't on time," Braze stated simply. He paused, turned away, and sneezed in a squeaky manner. He sniffled. "Excuse me…" he murmured, rubbing at his nose with the side of his sleeve.

He paused and looked up as the man questioned him about his attire.

"Something like that, yeah… Like I said, I'm not from around here," Braze replied, not wanting to elaborate on why he was wearing temple guard regalia that fit him and his short stature. He didn't exactly cut the imposing figure typically associated with Jedi Temple Guards.

"Who you chasing… someone really bad?" Braze asked. "We're right up on the border of Sith space, you know…"

["Sounds like your information might be playing with you if they aren't on time."]

"That is a possibility..."
Leaning forwards as he spoke, as he rested his arms on the table in front. "Would be a shame, since I'm havin' to pay for this information. We'd both be losing." With a brief chuckle being let out through his modulated voice.

["Something like that, yeah… Like I said, I'm not from around here."]

"Huh. Right..." He decided to drop that part of the conversation for the time being, as it was pretty clear that the other didn't exactly want to openly discuss it. Can't blame him.

["Who you chasing… someone really bad? We're right up on the border of Sith space, you know…"]

A moment was spent to look around. "...yeah. Someone 'pretty bad'. I ain't gon' get into too heavy of specifics, but... they're definitely someone who deserves to be locked up in a cell, as opposed to being let loose to wander. And I know we're on the border of the Sith, but I would be very surprised if they managed to get pass the border, and into their territory."

"If you don't mind my askin', what brings you all the way out here? Not much point in coming to a desolate place like this, unless you're running after something, or running from something."
It wasn't spoken in an accusatory manner. He was just genuinely curious, after all. It's quite a unique feeling, if you get the opportunity to hear the stories of strangers. Makes good conversation, too.

Braze listened carefully offering the man rapt attention as he spoke.

"They could be lurking near by then. " He chirped almost playfully so as if the very thought were amusing in some way or another.

"My... business associate wishes to venture to Takonda... he didn't plan on there being a big black-wall in his path... " Braze stated knowing just how close yet just how far that goal now was for Okuma Milogen Okuma Milogen . "I have the misfortune of being along for the ride... not really a matter I'm... at liberty to say no to. " Braze concluded simply though he couldn't help the sarcastic sass that edged his tone. He did take some mild enjoyment from Knowing they the Mercenary wasn't having a good day. Braze's helpful nature wanted to be trusting of Gavin and tell him the privileged knowledge he knew about passing the wall but it was better left un-spoken he thought. "I'm Braze... what's your name stranger?"

There was quiet listening, initially. Eyes spent some time looking around the area; likely looking for his informant, especially after the other's playful yet possible comment. Though, it didn't seem like he saw anything, as his gaze went back to the other afterwards.

["I'm Braze... what's your name stranger?"]

"Name's Gavin. Pleasure to be makin' your acquaintance, Braze."
A hand had lifted up from the table, and was offered over. In case Braze wished to shake hands.

Regardless if he accepted the hand shake or not, his arm would lower back down onto the table. "Yeah, I've heard 'bout the wall. It's pretty much why I doubt the bounty I'm after could have gone to Sith space, with how strict it seems. But, you never know." Spoken with a shrug.
"And if they have, well... guess I'm shit out of luck now, ain't I?" Despite how much that would absolutely suck, it was spoken with a lighthearted tone. How frustrating it would be, to travel all the way to the border, just for the person you're after to penetrate through an impenetrable wall.

There was a brief moment spent adjusting his hat. "So, you and your... business partner, are heading to Takonda. Are you in some sort of debt to them, which is why you ain't got a say in the matter?"

"Not necessarily," Braze said lightly. "There are a good many ways through, if you're smart, or resourceful."

He folded his arms across the table's edge, movements languid, almost feline. "Mm, strict doesn't even begin to cover it," he murmured. "Heard a rumor some poor sod tried to slice his way past it and just… evaporated. Think that's true? Or just ghost stories to keep smugglers in their lanes?" The question hung in the air, rhetorical more than anything.

"But I wouldn't go chasing anyone beyond the wall if you've never been inside Sith space recently," he added, tone softening into something quieter. "They've got the kind of things that'll undo a man just for lookin' at them wrong."

He leaned back in his seat, blinking once as he offered Gavin a smile. "Well, look at that. You're a clever boy, Mister Gavin. A debt is a pretty apt way to describe my situation." His voice dipped into wry and unbothered. "You catch on quick. That's a very good trait in your line of work."

His eyes flicked briefly toward the cantina's entrance, as if watching for someone… or something. "It's more like they hold the leash, and I haven't figured out how to slip the collar yet."

Then, leaning forward again, that playful ripple crept back into his voice. "But hey. Long as they don't tug too hard, I get to keep my teeth and travel in style. Could be worse, yeah?" A foxlike smile curled at the corner of his lips. "What about you, bounty man? What's got you chasing your mark this far out, wall or no wall?"

["Heard a rumor some poor sod tried to slice his way past it and just… evaporated. Think that's true? Or just ghost stories to keep smugglers in their lanes?"]

Despite the question's rhetorical purposes, he couldn't help but comment on it regardless. "Well, it is the Sith. From what I hear, they wouldn't be afraid to evaporate someone if brush shoulders with them on accident." There was a brief chuckle that followed afterwards, but that didn't mean it wasn't a scary thought.

["Well, look at that. You're a clever boy, Mister Gavin."]

...wait, huh? It took a moment for that to register, but once it did, there was a clear but brief look of bewilderment that formed. Visible despite his respirator's appearance over half of his face. Besides, he's pretty sure he's older than this kid.

His eyes followed Braze's own towards the cantina once the other had looked, but after that he merely listened to the rest of what he had to say.

["What about you, bounty man? What's got you chasing your mark this far out, wall or no wall?"]

"The money." No point in lying. "Like hell I'd come out this far to some backwater planet for a target that wouldn't even give me bantha dung." Keeping a lighthearted tone as he spoke. "Though despite that, even I know when to call it. If that bastard managed to get into Sith space, that's where I'm callin' it. At that point, I might as well start huntin' them Sith, instead."

"But regardless: as long as you're not... well, outright in danger or somethin', I wish the best for you, Braze."
