Xygrit knew that the Kyber level VIPs of the Galaxy Resort would not appreciate her conducting business with bounty hunters in the lounge they spent hard earned credits to earn their way into. But the Falleen crime boss and owner of the resort was tired of doing deals in grungy shadows. And she had heard that this particular bounty hunter wouldn't make the customers too uncomfortable. Assuming the young lady believed that there was no danger in meeting Xygrit here.

Vyn was rubbing Xygrit's shoulders and Aella providing a nice fanning as Xygrit lounged and awaited the arrival of the bounty hunter. As soon as the contractor arrived Xygrit would get straight to business. She slid a bounty puck out onto the table in front of her.

"I am Lady X, I had a thief in my employ. She has disappeared with something very valuable to me. Your job is to return the perpetrator to me. Alive and as intact as possible. Anything that will heal is acceptable. You are NOT to inquire about what was taken." Xygrit's words were very smooth, she very much believed in catching flies with honey. But the last sentence with an emphasis on "not" made it obvious there was venom to the woman as well.

"As discussed, the reward is twenty-five thousand credits. I will throw in expenses within reason and I will give you lifetime Kyber status at this resort. The target is named Cassia. She is smart enough to go by something else I am sure. She was employed for her mind, but don't underestimate her…" Xygrit leaned forward and pressed the bounty puck showing the target.

Objective: Make some cress out of the limelight
Location: Nar Shaddaa

Cassia knew that Lady X would not just let her run away. Too much time and effort had been put into the Echani clone to just write her off. The thing that caught Cassia by surprise was how short of a trip her credits bought her. Those few credits brought her to Nar Shaddaa. Somewhere that Lady X loathed to spend any considerable amount of time.

Getting somewhere she might escape Lady X's vision was only the first step of Cassia's problem though. She needed food, a roof over her head and protection. To that end "Zero Bloom" was born. Cassia used her programmed knowledge and cybernetic enhancements to take on slicing jobs. There were quite a few on Nar Shaddaa. Cassia found out quickly that "honor amongst thieves" was merely a saying that made people feel secure in insecure situations. Criminals would steal from anyone. And information was among the most valuable assets to be had.

So the first job earned Cassia a nice line of credit at a local hotel/cantina. She ate fine and had a room every night as she sought out her next job. It only took a couple months before the first bounty hunter showed up. Cassia knew she had to invest some of her funds in security. And she couldn't afford a bodyguard so that meant doing the job herself. She had Echani combat techniques ingrained in her DNA. That wasn't going to be enough though.

A client said she needed a blaster. It wasn't a bad idea, but Cassia didn't want to have to carry one on her hip all the time. Learn to draw one fast enough to out shoot a bounty hunter. No, her investment went towards what tools she already knew. More cybernetics. Now she was ready to fight, even though she didn't want to. Eventually she would hit a big payday and catch a ship to Alliance or Republic space. Maybe the Diarchy. She'd heard they take care of their people on Bastion. It pained Cassia to say that even an Empire would be better than living in the galaxy of criminals. Though she also was loath to admit that she actually was one of those criminals. A means to and end.

Getting out of this life seemed like just a dream. But it is the only thing that keeps Cassia going.
