SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Only the Worthy - Due to the use of identity verification sensors housed within the haft of the hammer, only those Bloodshot deems worthy are able to effectively wield the weapon, as the on-board repulsors will actively work to counter any attempts at movement by unauthorized wielders.
  • Ranged Re-Arm - Thanks to the use of more advanced repulsors and some rudimentary environment sensors in the hammer's design, it is capable of being recalled to Bloodshot's hand should he become separated from his weapon during battle, even smashing its way through barriers to do so (should there be no other path available).
  • Insulated - All the hammer's electronic components are encased entirely within the bes'kar haft and head, as well as insulated against undue damage from electrical surges, making it an incredibly resilient weapon.
Strengths:
  • Can Opener - Thanks to the powerful repulsor and shockwave generators used in its construction, Bloodshot's hammer is ideal for attacking heavily armored opponents and even light to medium vehicles, as the shockwaves generated on impact are more than capable of causing significant kinetic damage and sending opponents flying even without breaching the armor itself.
  • Ranged Melee - While the primary generators are housed on either end of the weapon's head, the hammer also includes a short range repulsor field generator built into the center of the head and along the start of the haft, giving it the capacity for a concussion blast that can be lethal to unarmored opponents up to 5 meters away, cause injury at up to 7 meters, and merely cause pain and discomfort at 9 meters.
Weaknesses:
  • Really Karking Heavy - The use of low-carbon Bes'kar almost exclusively in the weapon's construction has given it significantly greater weight than its more rudimentary cousins. Due to this, it is almost prohibitively heavy for individuals without Bloodshot's strength and stamina to even carry for prolonged periods, much less use in battle.
  • Slow Reload - While the ranged capability itself, short as it is, provides an unexpected vector of attack, the several second recharge period can easily mean the difference between victory and defeat in close-range combat.

DESCRIPTION

Unlike the standard power hammer on which it is based, Bloodshot's version of the weapon was designed from the ground up to be a weapon of war. Due to this, the haft and head of the weapon are composed entirely of hollow low-carbon Bes'kar, making it half again as heavy as your standard power hammer, but also rendering it almost completely indestructible, even against lightsabers. The haft is wrapped in shriek-hawk leather to better absorb the reverberations of impact, and provide a solid grip even in the bloodiest of battle conditions.
In another deviation from the function of the standard power hammer, the power delivered in each melee strike is not set to a constant level. Rather, it is merely a multiplier of the natural force delivered by each swing. This not only allows Bloodshot to apportion the weapon's force as he sees fit, but also has the added bonus of conserving power when the full brunt is not needed. Thanks to this system and the capability of the weapon to reclaim power from its own motion, it can go through multiple full-scale battles before running out of juice and requiring recharge, giving it effectively unlimited ammunition as long as the user remembers to charge it during their down time.
