=Pros and Cons=

--Genetically Engineered--
With a body manipulated and cloned in a lab for peerless performance, Bloodshot possesses keener senses and reflexes, higher stamina and resilience, and greater strength, speed, and dexterity than any natural-born Umbaran could ever hope to achieve. His mind is equally enhanced, granting him greater intelligence, an eidetic memory, and immense analytical capacity. While this does make him an exceptionally dangerous combatant, the effects of his alterations are not all in his favor. The increased tissue density and resilience of his body has nearly doubled its weight, making the proposition of swimming for any length of time a very dangerous one without external assistance. It also has the effect of drastically reducing the performance of small-scale aerial transportation such as jetpacks and speeder bikes, and making rickety floors or unsafe footing vastly more deadly than for a normal Umbaran. The alterations to his mind also ‘gifted’ him with a propensity for erratic behavior and an inclination toward disobedience, making him a nearly un-commandable soldier and all but useless outside of mercenary work, where he can be left to his own devices or put in charge of a small group of others.

--Umbaran--
As a genetically enhanced Umbaran, his physiology comes fully equipped with all of their benefits and drawbacks, albeit in a heightened state. He is easily capable of seeing clearly in near-total darkness, but even the standard illumination in a well-lit room will cause him discomfort without his helmet or another form of light-reduction equipment. His psychic potential has also been enhanced, granting him the capability to influence minds as well as read thoughts. The success of these more invasive abilities is largely dependent on the target and their individual mental state, though closer proximity and especially physical contact can make them significantly more potent.

--Force Void--
As a result of the forced separation of the space wraith from its host body, Bloodshot lost all contact with the force, turning him into a force void and rendering him entirely unable to be affected by it. This also renders him entirely undetectable by force-based means, and with focus he can extend this void beyond himself, selectively nullifying the force and its effects in his vicinity.

--Space Wraith--

Reinforcing his psychic abilities are the inherent powers of the Wraith latched onto his mind. While this influence grants him the capacity to match (and likely surpass) the psychic feats of many force users, it also pushes him to engage in more and more dangerous activities, living what life he has on the ragged edge. In its thirst to experience as much life as it can, even from its purposely limited control of its host’s mind and body, the Wraith often pushes him farther than he would otherwise be willing to go, even taking into account the unpredictability caused by his genetic manipulation.

--Force Prodigy--

An unforeseen side effect of his enhancements, Bloodshot’s connection to the force is a unique one, granting him an immense capacity to utilize Tutaminis, while robbing him of any other applications of the force, save for when he absorbs or drains enough energy to fuel them.

=Beginnings=

Grown in a lab by the former host of the parasite currently bonded to him, Bloodshot had little say in how his own destiny would play out. Mere moments after he was awakened, his creator died and the wraith sought out its new host, quickly latching onto his unprotected mind and establishing a foothold within his thoughts and motivations. In a sense, Bloodshot’s true character has never been seen, as nearly from the beginning he has been under the sway of another, travelling the galaxy to live his own life as a mercenary under the constant influence of a vastly more potent mind.

He would eventually join the mandalorian culture as a gambit to divine the secrets of their smithing techniques, and quickly realize just how truly the culture fit him. While he would never understand the devotion to family and loved ones, he could wholeheartedly throw himself behind the love for war and violence. It was this that prompted him to remain, even more than his initial goal of mere infiltration.

After spending some time with the mandalorians, Bloodshot's sordid past began to catch up to him in the form of a monster hunter seeking to expel the wraith from its host. The man was relentless, tracking Bloodshot wherever he ran and leaving him no safe harbor to rest. It was only a matter of time before he was forced to confront the hunter in a pitched battle, and despite his considerable effort was soundly defeated.

He remembers little of the ensuing events, save that when he finally awoke he had lost all urges to slaughter the hunter where he sat, and instead felt a mental clearness and acuity he had never before known. The explanation that followed left him with more questions than answers, but he was grateful to know that finally, for the first time since his birth, the wraith that had plagued him was gone and he was firmly in control of his own mind.

It had not left without consequences, however, and had torn from him the trait that had made him so valuable to it; his capacity to use the force. In truth, it was something he could learn to live without if it meant he was in control of his own mind.

While he retained the knowledge and memories from his time as the wraith's host, he had little in the way of his own motivations after so long under the influence of another, so he simply decided to return to where he had felt most welcome. He was going back to the Mandalorians.
