Waverly Dane
The Bachelorette
Blind Date: Pilot Episode
Air date: TBD
Location: A fancy restaurant, Coruscant
To the passerby, it may appear to be like any other night at the restaurant; there are a few couples and groups already dining. The setting is quite lavish, full of red velvet and rich mahogany furniture. The room is lit by a fantastic hovering chandelier in the center of the restaurant, and soft artificial candle light at the dinner tables. A quiet table near the fireplace was an obvious special setting, and carries a sign that reads “reserved”. The tables immediately surrounding the fireplace are also vacant.
The 2nd floor of the restaurant was usually set to receive guests, but tonight it was overtaken by a special project. A tall woman with a severe brown bun stood near the stairs, a data pad in her hand and a timetable that was ticking away on schedule. Even though the schedule for the evening had been proceeding without a hitch, Sela Everly was anxious. While she has been a project manager for Bright Star for some time now, this was her first time directing a HoloNet show. Sela’s sharp eyes kept watch over the entrance; she was waiting for the star of the show to arrive.
The production crew was currently set to work staging the bar area, supplementing the restaurant’s dim lighting with more effective lights for the show. Two empty barstools were currently being framed by one of the camera crew, and additional cameras were being placed for close-ups and cutaways. There was another member of the crew shooting various scenes around the restaurant to use in editing, and a member of the sound crew recording the ambient sound of the restaurant. There were many moving parts when it came to filming, and Sela was keenly aware of any potential issue that could arise. She was indeed a formidable planner.
“Miss Dane!” Sela called, once she spotted Waverly and her guard entering the restaurant. She was very glad that the star of the show had arrived a bit early, as she despised being kept waiting.
---------------------------
Waverly entered and looked up as a woman called her name. She ascended the stairs with Kal close behind, laden with bags and dress boxes, in case Waverly needed a change of attire. “Yes, you must be Sela?” Waverly asked, and watched as the woman nodded. Her dark eyes scanned her surroundings; there was a swarm of crew members busying themselves with preparations. It was all starting to feel very real now, she cast an excited glance over at Kal, though he did not share her enthusiasm, and it showed. The guard's frown grew deeper as he was pushed off to the side and out of the way.
Sela ushered Waverly over to a chair, a makeup artist started to work, making her look even more polished and alluring than usual. Waverly usually did her own makeup, but she’d never been featured on the HoloNet, and felt it was best left to the professionals tonight. Soon a hairstylist was behind her, brushing out her dark locks and fixing them into a casual, but classic up-do. Sela had already deemed Waverly’s outfit and accessory choices acceptable; she was the image of class in a sleek black dress, and diamonds that reflected the light in a most flattering way.
“What can you tell me about my date for tonight?” Waverly asked, looking to Sela. Considering that the name of the show was ‘Blind Date’, she was wondering if the production was going to keep her completely in the dark. She scanned the surroundings one more time, she had hoped to see [member="Marek Starchaser"] again, but she knew that he was a busy man. It seems that he had entrusted the production to the crews of Bright Star, and all seemed to be in top order, at least from what she could tell.
“Your date tonight is a man called Octavian. That’s really all that I can say for now.” Sela said, looking down at her data pad. “Please remain upstairs; we will want you to make a grand entrance down the stairs for the start of the show. You will meet him at the bar.” Sela added before walking back downstairs to await Octavian’s arrival.
