The blade adds to the weight of the bow, creating an imbalance that’d take away from the performance of anyone not already used to the bow, not to mention that if one were to start bowing with the wrong side it’s bye-bye violin. Like a standard violin, too much pressure would make the bow snap. Even dropping it at a bad angle could result in an expensive repair job. [/SIZE]
