Amans In Tenebris
Black Rose Ground Forces (Army)
Supreme Commander:
The Supreme Commander of the Army, like the Supreme Admiral, is a position held by only one. The duty of the Supreme Commander is to oversee the functionality of the Army. Despite it being a military position, it is also a political one. At times the Supreme Commander will be called upon to act as an ambassador to settle both internal and external disputes. The holder of this position answers only to the Council.
Only the Supreme Commander has the power to order ground forces (troops, vehicles, etc) off planet (Black Rose held planet) into hostile territories with the backing of the Council. To ensure the position is not abused, the Supreme Commander must appeal to the Council for approval before acting. However, in the event any planet under the rule of the Covenant of the Black Rose is invaded by hostile forces, he has the right to act without any appeal or approval from the Council.
Only the Council can appoint a Supreme Commander. Only a NFU can hold this position.
Generals:
Generals can be held by as many that are needed. All Generals answer to the Supreme Commander and the Council. Generals are only a military position with no political ties.
Candidates for Generals are chosen only by the Supreme Commander of the Army, and the names put forth for the Council to approve. However, in the event of hostilities and a General is killed in combat, Generals can be temporarily appointed by the SC without the Council's approval and must relinquish their role at the conclusion. At the conclusion of hostilities, the SC can put forth a new name for the Council to approve or the name of the temporary holder.
Generals are responsible for all ground based actions such as planning and troop movements. Only in times of war they need not request approval from the Supreme Commander, but are held accountable for their actions.
Both NFUs and FUs can hold this position. However, only in times of war can a FU hold the rank of General and when hostilities are concluded; must relinquish their position.
Colonel:
Colonels lead ground forces into battle. On the battlefield, their word is law.
Lieutenants:
The rank of LT. is considered the company commanders. Each LT. is assigned a company in a battalion and is is their duty to continue to have their troops battle ready at all times.
In times of hostilities, they answer only to the Colonels in regards to overall orders, but are free to make adjustments as they see fit as the battlefield changes.
