Private Big Cats

Lily Decoria Lily Decoria

"That's a possibility too…" Colette grumbled as she began to think it all over. There was truth in what Lily was saying. It could be intentional just as much as it was unintentional. The rune-thing was embedded in a way where Colette doubted that but she had also seen stranger things happen before. Either way it was for the best to let the beast get its strength back and then track its movements back to where it came once the coast was clear.

"We let 'em rest." She nodded and sat herself down in the bushes. "Once the beast has moved away, we'll try to see if we can find any signs of where it came from."

Given the fact that the beast nearly was able to stand already, that probably wouldn't take too long.

"They're stubborn. Like me, in a way. Never staying down, always getting back up."

"Like you too in that way, actually."

Lily's mindset was that they needed to eliminate every possibility to ensure that they did not falsely report to the NJO what was going on here. Right now, anything could have happened for this rune to be found inside the beast. Lily hated making assumptions without any evidence to back up their reasoning. Left too much to chance and she had no faith in chance.

Nodding her head, she followed Colette back into the bushes. "Guessing this would be some classic animal tracking abilities?" Lily asked, she had no clue on how someone tracked a beast, she had never been hunting. She preferred to just enjoy the meal given to her over the idea of having to hunt and kill the beast herself.

"Me stubborn? How dare!" Lily feigned a hurt expression. She then giggled and smirked to Colette, "being stubborn can sometimes the deciding factor in whether we live or die. I would rather stubbornly live on, than surrender to a death I could avoid." Lily stated as she watched the beast, making sure she knew where it was at all times.

Colette tsked a snicker.

"I'll remember that next time someone pulls a knife on me." She joked and shook her head. "But, yeah… Classic hunter stuff except the other way around. Track away from your target instead of towards it."

The beast pushed one more time and this time got on its feet. Although it walked with a limp, the wound was already looking better. Colette gave Lily an affirmative nod that it was a good sign and then slowly pushed back into a kneeling position again.

It bowed off into the nearby environment and almost disappeared entirely.

"Give it a minute before we go. Need to make sure it's clear."

"If someone pulls a knife on you and you can't do anything but die, then I failed as your friend to teach you simple self defence!" Lily retorted, refusing to allow any of her friends to be unable to protect themselves from someone foolish enough to pull a knife on a Jedi.

Tilting her head, "away? Isn't that the opposite direction we want to head towards? Why track away?" She was curious about how this was all done but it didn't seem logical to be tracking away from the target instead of towards it.

Watching the beast shift, Lily followed Colette and moved into a kneeling position, taking steps to follow Colette as they waited a moment.

"Sounds like a good shout."

"Of course it's a good shout, I know what I'm doing." Colette smirked back at Lily. "Reason we track away from it is to find where it came from, yeah?"

"Either we get somewhere, or we know the direction we need to go. These aren't windy sand dunes. There will be tracks and traces, we just have to know where to look." Colette grinned at Lily. "Luckily, you got me."

Wait…

"Unless… You want to learn a thing or two. Always happy to give pointers."
