Intent: To Create a personal Slicing computer for Logan, as all Slicers should have.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Custom made by Logan
Model: He calls it Betty
Affiliation: Logan
Modularity: Most Definitely
Production: Unique
Material: Dallorian Alloy, Electrum, Gold, Duraplast, and Transparasteel.

Description:
Betty as Logan ironically calls his computer is a heavily modified Xcalq-3GA Portable Slicing Computer. Originally this system was designed by the Galactic Alliance core fleet to slice into Galactic Alliance systems. This was done so that people could gain quick access to computer and advanced systems on Star Destroyers and in other places. Later the Xcalq was also used to slice into Imperial Systems since many of their networks and operating systems were based off of the Old Galactic Alliance ones.

This still holds true today, with most systems being based off the same design of those of the Old Galactic Alliance, especially throughout the Republic. However because technology has advanced it made the old Xcalq rather obsolete, making it far too slow and reliant on its association with old systems.

Knowing this Logan began to tinker and upgrade with the Xcalq, upgrading it with first new hardware. He replaced most of the wires and microchips within the computers with Electrum and Gold replacements, since these elements conduct electrical signal better. Along with this the durasteel casing of the Xcalq was replaced with a Dallorian Alloy, allowing the computer to better absorb heat and run faster.

Along with these Hardware upgrades Logan also significantly upgraded the software of the Xcalq. Using connections within the Slicer community and his own advanced intelligence Logan designed several advanced programs intending to “cut” through most systems. Unlike most Slicing computers however Betty does not brute force systems. Instead the system seeks out small faults and backdoor entrances through code and programming and gains access in that way. This takes more time, but it also makes the operation much more difficult to detect.

Though Betty is a fantastic slicing computer, it can at times act...erratically. Due to the nature of its Slicing protocol Betty has a tendency to gain access to exploits that aren't actually there in a system. In laymans terms, this causes a glitch where Betty attempts to gain access to a part of a program that simply does not exist, to anyone watching their computer this would cause major malfunctions and glitches in operations, alerting anyone to a problem.

All in all however Betty's benefits far outweigh the drawbacks

Other Features:
  • Universal Jammer: This was only recently added to Betty, but it was a system that was entirely necessary. When Logan was contracted by the Hutts he gained 100,000 credits and this was one of his first purchases. The Universal Jammer blocked most common types of detectors and made Betty seem little more than an ordinary Computer. However certain advanced systems could still penetrate the Jammer and when that happened...well it wouldn't be pleasant for Logan.
  • Electronic Lock Breaker: This is standard equipment in any Slicing computer. The ELB was an anti-security device capable of overriding most basic alarms, security systems, and computer locks. Specialty programs and military hardware required more time to crack of course, but with this program most often the Sky was the Limit unless special protection was created in advanced.
  • Slicer Chip: The Slicer Chip was a more advanced version of the ELB, though it had pretty much the same function, the Slicer Chip inside Betty had a more range of use in that it could Slice more types of systems including Navigation, and Droid programming.
