Biography:
Born on Utapau during a dark period on the homeworld of Cathar that had forced her parents to emigrate, Bettanes grew estranged from the local society in general--ironically outcast by the very people who extolled the virtues of inter-species tolerance. She faced much hardship in her youth, but persevered with nose held high. She learned to lie and cheat to beat the system, and even outwitted a few schoolyard bullies back in the day.
Lying seemed to serve her well and open doors that were otherwise nonexistent. She managed to gain passage offworld aboard a leisure vessel, feigning PR expertise just long enough to survive a one-way trip to Dantooine. (Lying saved her skin again as she was threatened in various physical ways that would freak anyone out. She was marooned instead.)
