  Born in the industrial areas of Coronet city on Corellia, Ben's parents worked for the Corellian Engineering Corporation as factory line workers, putting together both civilian vessels and military craft for use by the Galactic Alliance. The conditions of intense factory work steadily wore on the health of his parents, and while Ben was still young, his father died following an industrial accident which left him severely injured, and his mother limited in terms of the work she was able to take on. Despite his youth, Ben was suddenly thrust into a position of needing to help provide for his mother and himself, but there were few options available to a young boy with few connections.
  
  It was little surprise, then, that Ben steadily fell in with the street gangs that made their livelihood trading illegal goods and smuggling them under the nose of the Alliance and the local government. Having taken it unto himself to steal in order to make ends meet, Ben eventually attempted to steal from the wrong person - a smuggler for a local outfit known as the White Mynocks. Caught, Ben was forced to begin working for the gang, beginning as a pickpocket, and steadily being given more and more responsibility as he demonstrated a knack for the criminal underground. In time, the smuggler that had initially indentured him to the gang began to take Ben on as a protege of sorts.
  
  As the years went on and he grew older, Ben's ambition steadily grew, and as well as taking on jobs for the White Mynocks, Ben began to seek his own scores. At first, this ambition was in the hope of buying a better life for his mother as she became less and less able to work herself, but in time she would pass away from illness, leaving Ben to instead start fending for himself, with a goal of securing a ship of his own and leaving Corellia behind. As the war between the Galactic Alliance and the Galactic Empire intensified, more and more opportunities began to arise across Corellia as criminals took advantage of the steadily growing chaos that came with the Alliance's steady losses.
  
  Now, as the Empire steadily closes in following the fall of the deep core, Ben's eagerness to escape Corellia has only grown, and he seeks any opportunity he can that might give him the opportunity to make his escape out from under the White Mynocks, the Alliance and the Empire.
