Modularity: As with most lightsabers, Ben could deconstruct the blade and reassemble with different lightsaber parts, if he acquired parts that he wished to add.

Size: One-and-one-half-handed (Like most lightsabers, the blade can be held with one or two hands depending on the Form being used).

Special Features: The crystal used in the saber was discovered by Ben on a ritual crystal-gathering trip on Ilum. As such, it resonates personally with him and serves to aid (marginally) in Ben's ability to focus and maintain a connection to the Force in combat. This makes the weapon more useful to Ben than a generic training saber. The armor weave wrap around the hilt increases the user's ability to grip the weapon slightly.
Description: For as long as Ben Corsifine had been a Jedi, he excelled as a lightsaber duelist. As such, he dreamed often of the moment when he would have the skill to create a personal blade for his own use. After training for a period with Corvus Raaf, Ben finally had the capability by the age of 18. After a trip to Ilum to obtain a crystal, and a brief visit to Chazwa to purchase the other components for the hilt, Ben returned with the intention of performing the rite associated with creating a lightsaber under the supervision of his master.
However, when the time came, Corvus disappeared from the Order. Now alone, Ben decided that it was the perfect moment to complete his goal. He constructed the blade in the room where he first trained with Corvus, tying a band of fabric around the top of the hilt to signify that Corvus will always be with Ben, and to serve as a reminder of his master's kindness and her teachings.
