They would only lay one or two eggs within their lifetimes due to their extremely long lives, and tended to mate for life. Females are also able to store DNA from their mate for future egg-laying as well.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Worshiped as living gods on their home planet, the Beannacht lived in harmony with their human worshipers. These worshipers, known as the Anam, catered to their gods' every need. While the Beannacht came up with technology, they instructed the Anam on how to build it. Their planet prospered for millennia, and had a strict isolationist policy to the point all ships that came to the planet were shot down under orders of their Rí na Beannachtaí.

Unfortunately, catastrophe struck their planet, and all but the current Rí na Beannachtaí and her egg died off in order to protect the Anam as they fled their home planet. They fled to Vanquo, and built a new home. The Rí na Beannachtaí's egg hatched, and for many centuries they lived in harmony, until the Rí na Beannachtaí was corrupted by the Dark Side, and went insane. She slowly corrupted her son as well, and after an unfortunate incident in which she killed the Anam High Priestess, both the Rí na Beannachtaí and her son were put into a magical stasis by their worshipers.
