Description: The BCU-JT1 series is the vehicles in the BCU agro line. It has an 8x8 wheeled layout, with a 6.5 meter wheelbase and a track of 6 meters and is designed for stability over the roughest terrain. Each of the four two-wheel units are connected to the chassis by two swinging-arm Anderson suspension units and are cantilevered at the chassis bearings and sprung internally on torsion bars shock absorbers, while hydro-pneumatic rams control the whole suspension assembly.

Unit has options for a central computer processor to monitor the suspension as it travels on rough ground or a hookup for exterior astromech to control which can instruct the Anderson units to provide the best stability and traction over uneven terrain. This system can also adjust the ground clearance of the vehicle allowing for clearances between 1.5 and 0.5 meters.

Powerplant is a standard BCU-EL1 solar cell generating from 140-150 kw in average light conditions. Power is transmitted from the plant to the wheels via a drive train that runs directly through the struts of the Anderson units to the wheel motors. Each wheel has its own individual independent transmission system which is controlled to provide optimum traction; the anti-lock braking system is also handled by the central processor. Road speeds for the JT1 are typically around 80 - 120 km/h, and the off-road capabilities of the tractors are equally prodigious, thanks in part to its ability to tackle vertical obstacles up to 1.10 meters and gradients of over 70%.
This model is fully-enclosed cabin comes as standard with self-contained biosystems with life support capability. Cabins are configured around driver and can be best described at 'utilitarian', although economical use of space does allow plenty of stowage for equipment and supplies. Each central cabin is reinforced by a durasteel roll-cage and can be sealed fore and aft by a sliding bulkhead door.
