DESCRIPTION

Recent developments and research into new tech have brought Azula to the conclusion that her armor needed several upgrades. Firstly, the hijarna stone breastplate was replaced with Beskar. The hijarna stone, despite begin a family heirloom, was seen as archaic by Azula. Out with the old and in with the new. Also, an inner layer of nykkalt was added beneath the suit to provide anti-sensor capabilities. However, this doesn't hide one from sight, just electronic scanners and sensors. Some haysnian smelt was added into the armor to give that Golden Company look to it.

[member="Lily Kuhn"] How so?

"Rare and precious, it existed in a liquid form beneath the surface of the moon of Kufs. Because of that, the moon was essentially invisible to anything electronic." - From http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nykkalt

If it's beneath the surface of the moon, and the moon could beat scanners, would the same not be true here?
See below:
It is due to the properties it contained that reflected light, air, and frequencies that caused it to render it invisible and undetectable. It also flowed directly under the surface of the planet in a liquid state, the surface of which was certainly not denser than beskar - famed for its density. It would be unable to reflect any such frequencies/light/air unless the object surrounding it was sufficiently porous or lacked the density to keep said frequencies from reaching the Nykkalt. A magnetic sensor or any other kind of sensor that would pick up a metal like Beskar would detect this specifically because of this. Anything beneath the beskar would be largely invisible, but the beskar itself would be detected.
