Battle of Charros IV: Republic vs. Empire [Ask]

Aronis was able to spot the three Jedi from his vantage point. After a moment of watching them, he began to form his plan of attack. Aronis would need one seperate to stand any chance at defeating them. Unfortunately they showed no signs of splitting up. So he would have to force them to. Simple enough, but Jedi tended to like staying close to each other, always afraid of what might happen if they didn't.

Aronis climbed on his speeder, prepared to make his move. He would get within a reasonable distance, then ditch the machine. He couldn't risk the Jedi stealing it. Aronis zoomed towards the wreckage, before stopping at a 'safe' distance, prepared to traverse the remainder on foot. He checked over his weapontry and hid the speeder in some brush, then advanced.

Aronis tried to remain hidden as best as possible, not knowing when he might stumble upon the Jedi. He had marked their location on his datapad, but they were on the move. As he continued towards the wreckage, there was more and more debris. Which only slowed him down. He stopped staring up at the sky, he had to be close by now.

Diana dropped down into cover, grabbing onto Tracyn and pulling the Mandalorian along with her, knowing that the man would likely be rather confrontational towards anything right now. They both dropped down into the net hallway opposite Sochi. She looked at the younger Jedi Knight, and then nodded slightly as the probe's droning noise became louder and louder. Diana did not move an inch, waiting for the right moment to strike.

As the drone passed the hallway Diana pulled out her lightsaber. She ignited the blue sapphire blade stabbed into the middle of the drone. Instantly the droid began to glow red hot and exploded into a million pieces.

She frowned slightly as she once again flipped the switch on her saber and placed it back into its leather strap. “We have to get to the Hangar.”

The Jedi Master told the other two Jedi with a frown on her face.

“We need the high ground, then we can make a stand.” She didn't mention her hope of finding an intact ship. The Readhead knew that it would be a longshot, but if anything had survived it would be in the port hangar. If nothing had...well then they would go out in a blaze of glory.

Talon knew he had to reach the Jedi some how he stood and watched the droids that he didn't cut down trot off to continue the search. Talon stood and hung his head while his emerald eyes darted back and forth behind the faceplate of his helmet.

He saw the droid pieces on the deck. Then turned and looked at the section of ship blocking his way.

Once again he ignited his silver loghtsaber. He stared at the section and chose an area near the port bulkhead. Then reversing his grip on the hilt of his weapon he buried it in the durasteel deck plating. The work was slow but he cut a portion out. Then with a few minutes of alternating force pulls and pushes the chunk fell away.

The hole was not large but Talon squeezed through. The Jedi now had a lead on him but he had too get to them, somehow. Talon commed his droid pilot aboard his Sigma-class transport as he broke into a jog.

"Bring the ship near the wreckage and set down close by the least damaged area." Talon said hoping the droid could accomplish the task, "I may need to leave quickly."

The droid emitted a string of binary in response and Talon cut the link.

Soon he would have to choose between what he knew and what he felt. He would have to choose to remain in the dark or step into the light.

Flint gave a satisfactory grin as one of the debris that he had thrown hit its target, forcing the vehicle that the aggressor was on to contact with the ground, forcing the rider to get off. As the rider raised her weapons, however, Flint's grin turned into a slight frown. It appeared as though that the aggressor had come well prepared.

Before he knew what was going on, Flint barely managed getting directly hit by the flash grenade. Nevertheless, the flash grenade exploded near him, causing his sight to go extremely bright, it was fair to say it was near impossible to see anything for the time being. The sound of explosion also caused his ears to seemingly go deaf temporarily. Flint knew that this was not good at all. He would have to heavily rely on the Force for his sight and survival. "Is that all you've got?" Flint yelled rather loudly, turning around to face what he thought the direction that the grenade had come from. Part of him was simply yelling so that he could challenge the aggressor, part of him was simply yelling out loud so that a possible Republic survivor nearby could assist him.

Opposite @[member="Aronis Vilgar"] on his own vantage point was a shadowy figure, draped in robes black as the void itself, minus the stars and stuff. He was pressed back, out of view and focusing his energies on hiding his force signature for the Jedi which moved below. From behind the mask, his corrupted eyes narrowed as he finally caught sight of the Jedi, more prey for the hunter that was himself.

Some time ago, he had stopped carrying trophies, they were relics from a more immature time in Faust's life, one he was passed now. He wasn't sure he could even call himself Marcus Faust anymore, Marcus Faust was long dead, he was something else, something more. Whoever he was, he carried but one blade which hung from his belt as he meticulously planned out how to strike out at his foes.

They were grouped together, which meant engaging now meant certain death, or almost certain anyway. He wouldn't be taking that risk, he had to split them up, then close in on one, likely the weakest first, then work his way up, or perhaps he should do it in the opposite fashion. He hadn't made up his mind and wasn't going to for a time, so for now he watched.

Blessed are the peacemakers
Tracyn lumbered through the ship, pausing for a moment. Diana worried about him. He turned towards Diana, after a long moment of thought."If all else fails, I have an idea that involves the hyperdrive. One-way ticket for whomever does it, though."He said with a grim grin, but it faded after a moment. He picked up on a lot of presences, some familiar, some not. He moved like a demon, hauntingly silent and had the aura of death around him. He was, in a sense, not very Jedi-like in appearance. He blinked a few times, before picking up his pace further into the ruined ships. Lights flickered, and dead bodies littered the halls, troopers and engineers and pilots alike. He turned around, coming into an open corridor.

"If I were to attack a group of Jedi, I'd want to split them up and pick them off one by one and go in an order. Easiest or hardest first, depending. But...I don't think they know who they're dealing with. We're outnumbered, outgunned, but.."He put up a single hand, putting up one finger hidden beneath a crushgaunt that claimed a many of a life on it's ionized Beskar."But we're not out-skilled. They picked a wrong fight. A very, bad fight."He said, narrowing his eyes.

Demons. Demagolka. Whatever you wanted to call Tracyn, whatever you wanted to call his inner turmoil, it was useful when he put it towards the end of a blade. He turned back to Diana, staring her down with icy-gray intensity."I'm assuming you have a plan.."

She came from her temporary hiding place following behind Tracyn as they began to make their way towards the hanger it seemed. She stopped in her tracks, she thought she might've heard yelling, but when she thought maybe it was just her, she felt a sudden shift in the force. She closed her eyes for a moment. She placed her hand on the nearby duracrete wall, and she could feel vibrations off it if. She quickly maneuvered herself near it, to see what it was. She placed her hear against it, and it sounded like explosions going off, and the sound of speeders. There were voices coming from the area as well. She squinted her eyes, she wasn't sure if it was just the sith or if it was definitely someone in need. They couldn't just leave them behind if that were the case. Then she heard the sound of blaster rounds, it had to be some type of resistance going on down their. They were surround by Imperials so there was no way they were fighting themselves.

Sochi quickly grabbed her lightsaber hilt and quickly began to cut an opening in the wall. It took her a while and the others would soon take notice of what she was doing. She brought her lightsaber around back to its starting point. Ru used the force to rip out the carved out entrance. When she peeked her head through, she had to look down because the sounds of fighting had indeed been coming from beneath them. She saw a cyan plasma blade swinging about through the thin smoke. Her eyes grew wide.

"We've got a comrade down here!" She said to the others. She gave them enough room for them to come and see.

Diana scowled, looking to Sochi and then to Tracyn. Another Jedi alive was great news, but it also wasn't. They could hardly fend for themselves up here, going down there...well the odds were against them. She knew they had to split up, she knew that they had to reach the hangar but they also couldn't let the other Jedi by himself. The Jedi Master thought for a second, then patted Sochi and Tracyn on the Shoulder, she gave a look to both of them.

“You two need to go down there. Save him and then retreat back to that section of the wreckage.” Diana pointed to the aft section of the ship, still completely intact. It would make a fine little fortress for the Three Jedi. “I'll keep heading to the hangar. There was a diplomatic ship there, the transponder is stronger and will break through any jamming the Sith Might have...Maybe i'll even find a ship.”

She gave them both a confident smile, though it was somewhat empty.

All they could do was survive.

Talon picked his way through the battered ship. Bodies and wreckage were everywhere but that didn't bother him what boy bothered him was the lighting. The ships lights in this area were only on for seconds at a time which meant the Zelosian Sith was blind for the rest of the time.

As a Zelosian Talon had zero low light vision and that put him at an even greater disadvantage than he already faced. If he activated his armor's lights the Jedi would see him long before he saw them and so Talon closed his eyes and let the force drive him. His fear mixed with hope fed him strength and power while he moved.

The Jedi seemed to be moving steadily aft perhaps in search of the hanger and the chance for freedom. At least that would be what Talon would do. He focused and searched for their presences. They were ahead but not far. Maybe 70 more meters. He knew his presence would be felt as he drew on the force for sight but it could not be helped he had to reach them. If when he did he would see if they were as pious as they claimed or if they were as the Mandos claimed, just the flipside of the same coin.

Her scope found the figure of man standing behind the canopy of the fallen shuttle. Locking onto Flint Dexen, Ayra began to open fire. Turbolaser streaks illuminated the ground ahead as she crouch ran towards the male. The smoke grenade inside her grenade launcher was activated during the fire as the red lights impacted the canopy and began to tear it up. She estimated the impact area of the smoke and came to a stop. Her hand lowered from the trigger briefly to the breathing apparatus on her hip. Placing it over her mouth, it would filter the smoke if she had to enter the fog. Circling around it, she continued to scan for Fling with her WESTAR M5 rifle, reloading briefly with another clip before locking on for another round of fire.

Aronis climbed aboard the wrecked ship, lightsaber in hand. He had no idea about the location of the Jedi. He contemplated their situation, what would he do? Stick together obviously and so far they had been. He would probably head for the communications room, bridge, or hanger. Either try to radio for help or even better, get a ship. The bridge was probably wrecked and without an elevator getting there would be a pain. He had no clue about the communications room or hanger. He should've paid better attention.

Aronis roamed the ship, searching for any signs of the Jedi. He had decided to head towards the nearest comm station, then depending on its condition, head for the hanger. He walked catiously in the general direction of it, aware of the threat of meeting a Jedi.

Aurelic Vos Talen

Jedi Newcomer and Shapeshifting Marsupial
A lupine form would suddenly materialize alongside Aronis from what seemed to be a moving oil slick. The creature slowly took shape in a bulbous shifting hunk of liquid and flesh. If Aronis reached out there would be no hint of the force, but the ever present scowling grin of the dark-side. Then it spoke, its voice running like a smooth, flowing river almost charming to the ears. "Comrade searches for Jedi? I can help." There was promising menace under that hypnotic voice. Now fully shaped his claws clacked across the durasteel quietly. "Two is better than one? Yessssss~?"

@[member="Aronis Vilgar"]

The thing would discover the blood red blade of Aronis Vilgar pointed at it in a fraction of a second. He was taken by surprise, mbut not unprepared.

"Yes." Aronis replied keeping his saber aimed at it. "I'm looking for a group of them, three Jedi."

Aronis could certainly use the help, but was it worth the risk? Yes, he decided, it was. He'd need help to defeat the Jedi and Sith back up was unlikely. Besides, he could always plunge his blade through the creatures heart.

"You can help, but first you will explain who you are." Aronis continued. "And if you try anything-" he didn't bother finishing, the creature would get the point. Aronis lowered his blade, but did not deactivate it.

Talen merely grinned and trotted forward. The blade startled him but for once didn't scare him, not yet. His deep orange eyes darted about the hull of the ship as he moved forward with a deep and obvious predatory grace. He waited for the human to finish speaking before he continued himself, his voice once more flowing like a never ending fluid each word seeming as if it were planned and choreographed.

"We're allies and fight for the same cause. We're both Sith, yesssssss." Talen knew that Sith rarely referred into each other as allies in all literate sense. But this one seemed young and fresh to the Dark Side more so than he was himself and therefor he decided they could work together. He then raised his nose and did what looked to be sniffing, but in fact he was echo-locating. As soon as he pinged on something he sped up his pace he did however, constantly keep one eye on his fellow Sith.

@[member="Aronis Vilgar"]

Allies? Hardly. More of a short term mutual agreement. Aronis deactivated his lightsaber and followed the creature. The creature seemed to know where it was going, which was better then Aronis' plan of roaming around searching everywhere. He still paid close attention to the creature, just to discourage any unfriendly actions.

The creature sped up seemingly onto something. They must be close. He wondered about this Sith creature thing. It could shapeshift obviously, what about lightsaber combat? Probably not. He would soon find out, provided this didn't turn into a trap.

Talen was darting straight toward the hanger where @[member="Diana Moridena"] was headed. He could feel her in both the force and physical realm but little did he know who he was running towards. Nonetheless he stopped now and then to give Aronis time to keep up. He certainly was a quick. He craved a fight with the Jedi, the Dark Side was strong with him and he was nearly addicted to it in its own self.

He paused at a t-section and spoke again to Aronis. "There is a Jedi coming toward us, hide!" The Gurlanin had no issue hiding seemingly shifting a battered and mortally wounded republic trooper, armor and all.

(Ill just go ahead a post)

Sochi sighed, and nodded. It seemed like the most viable option. There was no way they were going to leave him behind. Peeking out through the cut out entrance one more time, she jumped. Her arms were spread out, as were her legs. She was in a free fall position, all before landing on the ground a distance away from the fighting. The force broke her fall, and she looked up to see if Tracyn was behind her, she ignited her lightsaber and moved towards the laser fire, and explosions. It would seem they was an army down here fighting but there were only two adversaries.

The next explosions triggered the entire area to become shrouded in smoke, quickly. She came to a halt, covering her face as the clouds rushed past her. It triggered a slight cough. Her vision had become clouded, and the surrounding fire had triggered the arrival of a couple of droids. Using her senses Sochi jumped into the air, performing a black flip, and landing behind a droid that she dispatched quickly by cutting its limbs off and rendering it useless. She used a couple of spare parts from the droid to launch it at another via the force. While it was knocked over by the flying debris, she sped over and severed it rights legs, having it tilt over and fall into her saber, cutting off its head.

Talon kept on the trail as quickly as he could until the sounds of blaster fire and the unmistakable sound of lightsabers could be heard. Talon raced forward to see the floor below exposed he couldn't wait he had to get to the Jedi. He didn't notice the jedi who had not jumped down and just popped open a maintenance hatch and dropped down. She could see the togruta felling droids and leapt forward.

"No more time Jedi." Talon said as he walked toward her, "you can't afford to play here."
