Intent: To provide a way for Atrisia to get highly trained commandos right into the middle of battle quickly.

Description: The Banzai-class drop pods were created for a different purpose than their larger counter parts. Smaller, these pods are designed to carry a single commando into hot zones safely. Along with life support and safety restraints, these pods have more weapons storage than the larger Toras to accommodate the commando's needs.

The pods have maneuvering thrusters, a repulsor system, an inertial dampener, and a droid brain to control everything for safe decent. The droid brain in the Banzai pods are more powerful than in the Tora pods, as these smaller pods are designed to be more maneuverable and to avoid anything that might cause detection. Given the purpose and design, any maneuvering would simply be a change in direction downward, these pods cannot fly horizontally.

These pods are made using many stealth enhancing technologies. WhisperThrust engines replace the normal thrusters, and matte black fiberplast armor coated in Reflec. Passive EMP and ion protection prevents the pod from being disabled by shields or defensive weapons during decent. Just before colliding with the ground the pod ejects its engine/fin assembly and deploys a repulsor "chute" to slow decent. Once the drop pod has landed, the soldier inside has a view of his surroundings, and can open the door and quickly join a battle.

Before reuse a pod must be recovered, and components such as the pod's low energy ray heat shield replaced. If the pod was to badly damaged, the pods are often scrapped and replaced given the cost of repair.

  • It's blatantly Halo ODST. The picture says so, you say so. This is star wars, not halo. Change the image.
  • What are the capabilities of the droid brain? I.E. is it going to be dodging laser cannons from an incoming starfighter using those maneuvering thrusters?
  • It only carries one trooper, has stealthed up engines and a dedicated paint job, in addition to EMP hardening. Sounds highly specialized for things like SOCOM ops, which means it shouldn't be mass produced. Change it to minor.
