Bad Moon on the Rise (Jay Scott Clark)

Pryde had found himself stuck yet again. Another crash landing on yet another backwater planet. At least he hadn't been hurt in this crash like the last five.

I've got to learn how to karkin fly before I kill myself The young acolyte thought to himself as he stepped away from the cluttered wreckage of the old interceptor. His head shook in disgust, Mainly in himself, as he picked his Lightsaber up off the ground and wiped the mud off the hilt before walking away into the jungle in search of a way off this rock.

Masaki looked up from his wood working and squinted against the glare of the fire. Something loud had just smashed into the forest nearby. Better go see what all the ruckus was about. The strong human stood up and exited the tent flap with a heavy step. Wrapping his cloak around him as he voyaged out into the treetop village beyond. Here, high above the forest floor, he could see for quite a long distance. Fires burned from warm hut hearths and the grey smoke billowed upwards from the somber teddy bear village. The Force Apprentice noticed another fire burning out there as well. Somebody must have crashed their wingspeeder. Interesting.

Masaki descended the long rope bridges and circular wooden stairs to reach the forest floor. Stepping out onto the high muddy ridge line that overlooked the forest's watery brook. Taking no pains to conceal himself or his presence. No. The old Jedi was rather just eager to take notice of who was approaching the quiet teddy bear village. Catching flecks of motion coming out from the trees.

silent steps carried Jayce further from his wreckage, he could here the sounds from the local village and was openly avoiding it if at all possible. Instead the Acolyte made his way towards a nearby river so as to rinse the blood and mud from his face. He really didn't like this planet so far but he was stuck here....for now

Minutes later, Masaki and Tomo stood beside the wreckage. Surveying the damage and looking for survivors. It was not the wreckage of a wingspeeder as Jay had expected. Rather, a military interceptor. Wow. This guy must have been really lost.

"What do you think Tomo?" The Apprentice turned to his teddy bear friend.

"Yubba nubba." The fuzzy creature snorted.

"Oh? A survivor then?"

The tebby bear sniffed the ground and nodded. Gathering up his wooden spear and trotting off in the direction of the river. Following the trail of [member="Jayce Pryde"] as only an Ewok scout could. Jay simply shrugged and followed after the old gray creature. Pulling out his DL-44 Type7 blaster and skirting along the brush. Not sure he should be worried or if the old bear was just bored and lonely. Meh. But if there was a survivor? It wouldn't take Tomo very long to find him.

Pryde had already sent reports of his mission and of his crash back to the academy on Coruscant, Though he doubted any would come for him as the Sith would consider this just another test for the acolyte..... Survive or die, Escape or die..... His options were limited but he liked his odds.

Once at the river he decided to have a break, So he quickly sat on the bank of the river and slipped into a simple battle meditation to clear his mind so he could think. His meditation however was quickly interrupted as his heightened sense of smell and hearing picked upon his followers, One a native The other... something else entirely.

Quickly "jumping" into action, Jayce did nothing at all.....Just sat there in his normally twisted state of calm, Yellowing eyes gazing towards the ridge seemingly staring at the followers on the other side.

Tomo and Jay appeared out from the underbrush and seemed somewhat surprised at what they found. Ah. So there had been a survivor indeed. Fascinating.

"Yubba yubba. Prek'thh hmmm."

"Um. He means hello and, who are you and what do you want?"

Jay smiled as he translated for the seriously cantankerous little bear. Tomo lifted his spear and pointed it at [member="Jayce Pryde"] . Trying to look as mean and intimidating as possible. Which, wasn't much really. Hard to take a teddy bear with a stick seriously. Jay himself could only shrug and point his blaster at the Acolyte. Still unsure himself if this survivor was a blessing or a bane.

"Right. Sorry. Welcome to the Forest Moon. Was um... Was that your ship back there mate? Everything alright?"

Having a blaster pointed at him made Jayce a lot less than happy but for now he'd just sit calmly and see what the intentions of the male and his fuzzy friend were. Until then he stood slowly and brushed the dirt from his trousers as he looked to the man and responded.... "Well it was mine but now I believe it belongs to this accursed moon....Why? Do you know another way off this rock?"

Jay looked to Tomo and gave the stranger a nod,

"Sure do. Baraka Settlement is just that way. They run ships in and out of the sector for trade. Might even fetch yourself a taxi too. Ya never know? Look for the smoke among the trees and you'll find it. Wise men always do."

He didn't take his gun off the man. The design of that Interceptor wasn't familiar to Masaki but the fire behind [member="Jayce Pryde"] 's eyes was. After all. You can't kid a kidder. Sulfur always keeps it's smell.

"And uh... Stay out of the lowlands nearer the downs as you travel. The locals use them for hunting grounds. You wouldn't want to end up as someone's dinner by mistake. Eh. Dangerous terrain and all that. But nature's an honest girl. She can always tell the friends, ...from the foes."

He smirked and nodded towards his furry friend. The bear was still wagging his stick around. Letting Jayce know just how welcome he was amongst his clan's forest. Jay only smiled a fake smile. Letting the long silence that rose between them do the rest. His gun never wavering. His gaze, straight to the point.

"Good luck in your hike stranger. Fair travels."

Do try not to die.

His eyes burned with Darkside corruption as they threatened to burn through the man with the blaster, His inner rage growing at having the brutish weapon pointed at him. As if the force elavated him, Jayce came to his feet in less than a heartbeat as his true aura began to burst forth from him as he growled a low growl.

"And where is this village you speak of? I'd hate to get lost on this backwater Sith hole of a planet.."

Jay bladed his eyes against the rising tide. Then slowly muttered a few words to the teddy bear beside him. Tomo cursed under his breath but eventually turned to leave. After all, the last thing Masaki needed right now was for his furry friend to get hurt. Best to let the teddy bear scamper away now. Before things got really ugly...

"Sorry mate. You'll just have to use the Force and find it on your own."

He swung his blaster from side to side to demonstrate,

"See. It's just that way. ...Ta ta, now. Happy trails. Fair voyages and all that."

Jay smiled and pointed the gun back at [member="Jayce Pryde"] . The heavy blaster wasn't just for looks either. The Han Solo replica was powered by Type7 T-Gas. It gave the gun a shorter effective range and a louder burst, but it also made the red blaster bolts un-reflectable. No more of the classic "bouncing the bolt back at the user", thingy. The bolts simply exploded upon contact. Rather than glance off a Lightsaber or similar metals. Jay could unleash volley after volley from his sidearm at the poor Pryde and never have to worry about his bullets bouncing around. It's what made Jay smile when he leveled the gun again. This wasn't his first rodeo.

He'd fought a Sith or two in his time. That's why the gun never moved from it's target. And it's why Jay never gave an inch.

"Time to choose pilot. Your the one in control now."

There was a glow now behind the man's eyes as well. Not a benevolent charitable light but neither a storming sinister one either. Jay's eyes were cut like wet glass and glowed warm like white silver. Power. Not a moral compass. Not an angel's white wings. Just power. Like nature's invisible winds.

"...Choose. I won't say it again."
