Description

The B1 Battle Droid is a reintroduction of an ancient Baktoid design to the Galaxy at large. A tried and proven concept the B-class had always been known for its reliable nature, while not as sophisticated as most current models on the market there is really one thing that sets the droid apart.

Its price.

Whilst most droids come programmed with a thousand martial arts techniques, the ability to defeat hordes of other droids singlehandedly and can practically handle any weapon in the Galaxy, the B1 is different and so is the strategy involved in using one. Its strength is in the swiftness of production and the cheap price tag, this means that while other nations would have to wait while their population has stabilized again or reach deeply in their pockets, purchasers of a B1 army can easily keep churning out droids and literally bury their enemies underneath a sea of droids.

A long time ago the B1s were first controlled by a supercomputer that guided their movements and strategies, this proved to be a weakness when rebels simply blew up the computer and the droids became interoperable. The solution was soon found by integrating a droid brain into the design, this had the sad consequence that the droids became slightly less efficient.

Neuro-Saav decided to combine the two systems. A CCC can be used to coordinate the droids, and if the signal is broken or if there is no CCC to be used a back-up brain in the droid’s chest will be activated. Said brain is not as advanced as a Hegemonic Automaton brain, this means that it will be less efficient, strategic and the sort.

Through natural progression of time and technological advancement the current B1 Battle Droid is slightly more capable than its old predecessor, it will hit targets more often, use cover when its prudent and generally be more aware of its surroundings. Still no match for the unparalleled and expensive designs of the current leading manufacturers of course.
