B1-990
Character
For centuries upon centuries evil has stalked the galaxy. Men of metal birthed for one purpose: warfare.
There is no heart within this icy chassis, literal nor metaphorical.
In an ancient conflict long since passed, a war where both sides lost, billions of these monstrosities marched unrelenting across the stars where they blotted out the skies of countless worlds, crushing their inhabitants with a brutal iron fist. All to obey their wicked masters.
The young
The old
The strong
The weak
The healthy
The sick
The good
The corrupt
None of that was considered or cared for, there was only the enemy and the enemy were to be destroyed by any means necessary.
The death toll: catastrophic
The war crimes: Astronomical
To the relief of the peace loving peoples of the galaxy, those days are passed yet on the fringes of civilisation the enemy of all things that are decent survives
And when the vile forces of the Dark Side call upon their ever loyal soldier, an inhuman voice shall answer.
"Roger Roger, Sir!"
"Wait you want me to fight Jedi? ...Oh no. This won't go well."

Biography:
A veteran of the Clone War, B1-990 saw action at several famous battles including Christophsis, Kamino and Dathomir the later two serving as a detachment under the famed cyborg, General Grievous. 990 served with relative distinction, for a Battle Droid, claiming several enemy kills while somehow avoiding destruction himself. Over the course of his extended service, 990 suffered from the same information overload many B1 units in the Droid Army did. He knew more than his memory power could process and talked incessantly to cope with it. He had been due to undergo maintenance at the war's end but escaped memory wipe or decommission with the war's end. B1-990 was shut down by the newly christened Darth Vader like most of the Droid Army but reactivated by chance decades later, blissfully unaware of the war's end.
B1-990 had been inside a CIS transport at the end of the war, being moved to support the Kashyyyk offensive. The ship crashed in a remote part of Trandosha. With the droids unable to reach support they stayed put siphoning power from their grounded but mostly functioning capital ship. This lasted for centuries. B1-990 and the rest of the reactivated droids remained at the crash site utterly unaware of the changes in the galaxy.
Now B1-990 and his squad members have rejoined galactic affairs thanks to a lucky encounter with a smuggler offering them a route off-world and promising to return them to CIS active duty.
The galaxy trembles.

Personality:
B1-990 behaves largely as expected for a B1 Battle Droid. He can seem clumsy, ineffective and unintelligent, babbling often and apparently blunding his way through battles. However he shouldn't be totally underestimated, the droid has killed before and will do so to an enemy who lets down their guard. Every so often, the machine is capable of a frightening display of efficiency and deadliness with a rifle certain to remind anyone that behind the goofy exterior lies a machine built to fight war.
Centuries without a memory wipe has resulted in personality quirks in the old droid include a near romantic obsession with the deceased General Grievous and random bouts of psychotic bloodlust. Spending time in the jungles of Trandosha has, however, given the droid an unexpected love of the natural world.
------------
Strengths:
- As a droid, B1-990 requires no food, rest or anything else typically required by organics and is capable of fully functioning in the vacuum of space
- Programmed with most forms of basic combat and weapon use including the ability to control Separatist manufactured tanks, speeders and other vehicles
- Overloaded - 990 will often irritate superiors with his chatter which does nothing for a droid's longevity
- Considered weak when alone, this droid holds no special armour or weaponry and is functionally no different than the tens of thousands cut down with ease during the Clone War
Machines are superior
