Description:
Upon realization that the stock fighter for Koros, the Locust-Class starfighter, was rather lacking in armaments, Lily and a team of Koros Spaceworks engineers set out to resolve the issue. While the general consensus had been to simply add more laser cannons (Because, really, what can't more laser cannons solve?), or to upgrade the existing laser cannons to a heavier variant, Lily wanted to distance their project from the same design, which in her mind had already become dated and was rather bland in armaments to begin with. A decision, at last, had been reached for a new hull design, which looked somewhat similar to some other designs that Koros had produced int he past, and rather than tacking on a few more laser cannons it was agreed upon (or rather, the boss gave the word and it was followed) that a physical projectile weapon would suit the ship's design much better. While Koros Spaceworks remains unable to manufacture their own weapons and equipment at this point in their corporate growth, the HR-0C Slingshot Slug Railgun fit the bill for what Lily had been looking for as far as a new weapon went - being able to deal heavier damage to shields than the standard laser cannon. The range on the weapon was significantly greater than the point-and-shoot laser cannons that had previously been utilized with the Locust, which certainly made up for the forward-fixed firing arcs and their lack of mobility.
While the weapons on the ship certainly pack a suitable punch it is the equipment that makes the ship truly shine. Much akin to the Locust-class, of which the majority of the design is borrowed from, the B-8 "Blue Jay" comes equipped with two wing-tip microthrusters to aid in maneuvering tight turns, as well as potentially aid in short bursts of speed, as well as the K-57CE Engine. Both of these components aid the ship in maintaining a respectable speed and rather beautiful maneuverability performance rating. For anti-theft methods, of course, there are pressor field generators on-board that may be locked by the pilot while exiting the craft or remotely with a provided key (optional). The remote variation is liable to be exploited by slicers, however, and thus is only an optional offer - the pressor fields themselves are also a subject of liability due to shrewd hackers and slicers that might seek to lock pilots out of their ships. And lastly, and almost most importantly, is the presence of the Supreme Defender Shield generator, a high-end shield generator that offers slightly greater defenses than a standard shield generator - though only marginally so. As with the Locust-class, the ship was only equipped with a class 2.0 hyperdrive rather than the standard 1.0 military fare.
