SOCIAL INFORMATION

  • Hierarchy:

The Emperor- De Facto Head of the Imperium can be changed when called into doubt by the Senate, the Senate must ratify the succession by a vote. If the emperor’s chosen successor fails to be ratified by the Senate then the emperor can choose a new candidate. In the absence of an emperor, the Senate can select a new ruler from the Senate or the military. In theory, the emperor was the ruler of the empire, advised by the Senate; in practice, a balance of power existed between the two, the emperor was the charged with the foreign policy and military affairs, looking after the big picture while the Senate took care of the financial and judicial welfare of the Imperium. The Emperor was required to ratify the laws and decisions of the Senate creating a power balance between the two that was intended to prevent excess.

  • The Senate - each one a representative to their planet or district, and can be changed at any time by a declaration of their voters. The Senate was charged with the responsibility of controlling the finances and the judicial health of the Imperium. They were also tasked with providing advice to the emperor. The Senate had several specialist positions to which a senator could be elected or appointed where senators were given a specific portfolio of responsibility.

  • Imperium Military Command - run the military and attempt to keep the imperium peaceful, they are given their positions after showing some prowess in battle. Some of them are members of the Clergy of Light others are simply part of the military forces among the imperium.

  • Great Families: Patronage is very important to the Imperium, providing a means of transferring support and assistance up and down the social ladder. Anyone with sufficient means could act as a Patron. You might act by sending jobs, employment or even money their way, and in return expect loyalty, support and aid when you ask for it. One person's Patron might seek the patronage of someone higher up the social ladder, creating an intricate network of loyalties that lead back to a few great houses of the Imperial. By legitimizing patronage this structure that exists in every form of governance can be brought to the light so everyone is aware of your affiliations and prevent the misuse by corrupt or criminal elements.

  • The Clergy of the Light: The religious clergy of the Imperium, they are responsible for tending to the souls of their flock, as well as protecting them when needed. The Church of the light is built around the energy that flows through all things, uniting and connecting them, the force. The Clergy is split into warriors and pastors, those who defend and those who care. Both non-force users and force users are clergy within the church, and no differentiation is made amongst those who join the pastors. However, those force users who join the militant arm of the church can train as paladins or sorcerers. Non-force users in the military can become knights of the light, temple custodians or fighters in the military units provided by the church towards the defence and protection of the Imperium. The Clergy is mostly lightsided except for a small very militaristic sect of the clergy that is dark sided and is always watched by high members of the clergy, they are only used in the worst of circumstances.

  • High Class - The High class is those who have enough money to live comfortably as merchants business men or even doctors and lawyers. Not as powerful as the great families they generally attempt to join them or to work their family up to being among the great families. Lots of those with patronage from the Great families end up as High Class.

  • Low Class - Those who are low class are generally people who are farmers and other lower class jobs. They are the largest class and have the most say in the who becomes a senator and who doesn’t. Most of the military is made up of this class. Most of them become indentured servants in an attempt to become a member of the great families however some show the necessary skills to find patronage without needing to indenture themselves

  • Indentured servants - Sometimes, a citizen’s life was so bad, had fallen so low that they couldn’t get out of it. Maybe they owed more money than they could afford, maybe they were trapped by their circumstances. Citizens of the Imperium who found themselves in this situation could indenture themselves, trading away their freedom for a fixed term of years in return for the security of food, board and safety along with the chance to learn new skills. For some, this was a way to wipe out their debt. For others a chance to set themselves up for later life and to learn skills they can use. Still others would use it to lie themselves to a great family, exchanging their time for patronage and a position in the organisation

[*]
Membership: Most people who join start at the Low Class and work their way up unless for some extraordinary reason they are better in another position. Examples of this are old rulers of planets under the Imperium, they either become a senator for their planet or one of the high class members depending on how their people feel about them. OOCly join the Faction and make a choice on where you would like to go.

[*]
Influence: It’s influence stretches across the planets and sectors it controls

[*]
Climate: The Climate of the Imperium is a pleasant one as people are free to do whatever they wish as long as it is not against the Imperium.

[*]
Reputation: Most people see the Imperium as a Beloved Organisation and ask to join within the Imperium.

[*]
Rules: Don’t hurt each other, don’t try to destroy the Imperium, Everyone and Anyone is allowed. Doctrines: Basically what was stated in rules as anyone is allowed to repent for whatever they did in previous life and join into the Imperium as long as they are not attempting to take them down from the inside.

[*]
Goals: The goals and intentions of the organisation are to continue expanding and keep creating peace for people within the imperium. Education is a must within the imperium as everyone needs to be skilled.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Azure Imperium was a government that predated the Galactic Republic by centuries and centered on the twin worlds of Axum and Anaxes in the Axum system, which were populated by Humans who had arrived on sleeper ships from the planet Coruscant. While Anaxes served as the Imperium's primary shipyard and fortress world, the planet Axum was the Imperium's capital, and the Imperium's territory was spread along the hyperlane that was later known as the Perlemian Trade Route. The Imperium was peacefully absorbed by the growing influence of Coruscant several centuries before the year 25,053 BBY.

However not all of them were absorbed as a splinter group went off to continue the Imperium on Crakull. While doing so they managed to set themselves up quite efficiently, it wasn’t long before the ruling family was back in charge and they largely have been for the majority of the time. They have only done so however by keeping the senate and military onside. There have been several attempted rebellions over the years which have largely been squashed by the imperium.

Except for one which was lead by a group of force users. They called themselves the bringers of light. They fought their way all the way to the emperor at the time, who rather than had them killed ended up offering them an area and a position within the hierarchy as the new religion of the Imperium. This was the starting foundations of the clergy of light and one of the final promises was that the emperor had to marry one of the high priestess or priests from the clergy.

They have been not at all present within galactic affairs until recently when they were chanced upon by several disenfranchised people of the galaxy who finally saw an imperial group who was here for the betterment of any and all their planets. Thus these people joined in the Imperium and have been the driving force behind the groups resurgence to the galaxy at large.
