  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: RID
  • Model: N/A
  • Affiliation: Closed-Market , Mandalorian Empire , Clan Raxis
  • Modularity: Yes- size, filters, power source, containers

  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material: Silicar, reinforced alusteel, plastoid, electronic components, filter parts
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Advanced filtration system with adjustable filters
  • Size can vary for use in a single room apartment to a small city
  • Can run off of an internal generator/power cells or be hooked up to an external source
  • Can store filtered materials in containers
  • Tracks data
  • Large amount of memory for data storage
Strengths:
  • Data- The AWP system is a water purification system that tracks all of its data. It can tell you exactly how much water it has filtered, what it has filtered out, and how much of the filtered materials have been stored in its containers. It can also tell you how many times it has had its filters and containers replaced or swapped out.
  • Sturdy- The AWP system is a water purification system that was built for the long haul. It can withstand hazardous materials passing through it without dealing with the effects of corrosion on its systems thanks to the use of silicar in its design. It also is able to handle external abuse from weather or unsafe conditions due to its use of reinforced alusteel and silicar.
Weaknesses:
  • Power- The AWP systems is a water purification system that requires power to work at all. It is both the filtration system as well as the pump, so that means if it loses power then all water connected to it stops flowing. The other issue is that if it ever loses power then the containers holding the filtered materials may flood with water and burst open. This can be dangerous depending on what materials it is storing.
  • Maintain- The AWP system requires regular maintenance to function properly. The filters and containers need to be replaced periodically. If they are not and get to dangerous levels the entire system will shut itself down for safety reasons. If they are not and the safety protocol malfunctions then the containers could back up and flood their materials into the water going out, contaminating it. This could lead to sickness or even death depending on materials that are being filtered out.
DESCRIPTION
RID has been branching into the field of terraforming and improving living conditions. With the success of their TELAS and TEA systems as well as the BDS generators, they moved onto the next biggest issue facing many worlds as well as Mandalore herself: drinkable water. The new goal was now set so the designers got to work on some prototypes for a water purification system that doubled as a well pump. After some testing they eventually had the AWP system ready for sale.

The AWP System, like most RID products, is simple in its design. The pipes and water tanks are all made out of silicar. Reinforced alusteel surround it to provide protection for the silicar. A few thinner layers of reinforced alusteel and silicar are then stacked on top of each other to form the hull. Plastoid is then put over the hull for the protection of the hull and anyone touching it. All of the electronic components are between the hull and the pipes and tanks. Then a system of filters were placed between the water tanks so that it could filter the water effectively and in stages. A special system was built into the filters as well so that the filters materials can be moved into containers was added with pipes leading to the external portion so that containers could be attached there for easy removal and attachment.

With the basic system in place, a computer system was added that is connected while separate to the pump and purification system. The computer system was also were the power source for the entire system was added. It is an internal generator for larger ones and a place to put power cells for smaller ones. It was also given the ability to be hooked up to an external power source as well. A few cables run out of it to the main system that supply the power and the input/output for the computer. The design for the computer system mimics that of the pump and purification system by having a hull created by layering reinforced alusteel and silicar with plastoid as the outer most layer. The computer was then loaded up with a large amount of internal memory to store all the data it gathers while it works.

The last thing added to the system with all of its systems built was to add on a few features to the computer. It tracks everything such as how much water has passed through it, how many and how much of the materials it has filtered, how long until the filters and containers need to be replaced, how many times they have been replaced, and any other data that might be important to know. It also has a few safety features built into it. One of these safety features is that if it is hooked up to an external power source and it suddenly stops receiving energy from it, it will immediately switch over to the internal power source for as long as it needs to or can. Another safety feature was that it will begin to give warnings if the filters and containers are close to needing replaced. If they are not replaced then it will shut down the whole system after finishing off whatever is in the tanks at that time. This is also what it does as a safety feature when the filters are going to be replaced. The last safety feature is that it will warn if the contents of the containers are volatile or toxic.
