STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :
Ace Pilot - Auri has been flying her ship, the Rimrunner, for the better part of 5 years. She knows all it's ins and outs and how to get the most out it. Her skills transfer well to most space-faring vessels in service whether they be from Sorosuub, Incom, or Nubia.
Crack Shot - Auri has had a blaster at her side for as long as she can remember. Growing up on the farm, she'd use them to scare off Razor-cats and other predators from her families Nerf herd. In her career as a smuggler, she's gotten into her fair share of firefights and has perfected her draw and precision in the heat of conflict.
Spice Addict - Auri has picked up some bad habits from her time in the Outer Rim. One of those is recreational narcotics. Though she's tried a variety, she takes routine doses of refined Andris to keep from withdrawing.
Physically Weak - Auri is 5'7 and 130 lbs with very little muscle to speak of. She gets by on her cunning and deception. She stands no chance in any kind of physical fight.
Greedy and Vain - Auri's sense of self revolves around her bank account, her possessions, and her appearance. She will do almost anything for an opportunity to gain in any of these areas, and she avoids actions that might compromise the things she values.
APPEARANCE:
Auri has dusty, blonde hair, green eyes and pale skin. She normally wears her hair in an up-do or ponytail to keep it out of her face when she's working. Her clothes are plain most of the time, v-neck shirts and vests, heavy, grease stained jackets, tight pants and work boots that come up to the knees. She will also wear a utility belt with a Harris wrench, Pilex driver, Hydrospanner, and other tools used to make quick repairs to her ship. Additionally, she normally wears a holster for her blaster snugly on her thigh. She looks worn and rugged on her ship, but has a tendency to clean her greasy hair and dirty clothes when she's going into public, as she's rather vain about her looks. She'll also wear makeup and more fashionable clothing on special occasions.
BIOGRAPHY:
Auri Vesta was born on Corellia and raised on a farm with her four other siblings. She was an unsatisfied, rebellious teen who eventually convinced her parents to let her apply at the Coronet Academy for university. While her parent's had her enrolled in the Agricultural and Bio-engineering program, she secretly signed up for classes in the Department of Aerospace, where she learned about galactic navigation and practiced flying on the school's star-fighter simulators. She had a passion for exploration that she knew her parents would never understand, but she hoped that one day she would be able to leave the family Nerf farm and travel the galaxy as a spacer.
She found her opportunity at 18, two years into her university career. With her focus in Aerospace ever increasing, her standing in the Agricultural program slipped so low that her parents decided it was not worth their money and pulled her out of the academy. Furious, she made a drastic decision that would change her life forever. One day in Coronet as she and her older brother delivered a Nerf to the processor, she saw a Republic ad requesting for young pilots to bolster their fleet of cargo freighters. A ship would be provided, along with fuel and food expenses as long as the hire was willing to commit to a two year contract of exclusivity with the Republic. That night, she stole away from their home and took the family landspeeder into the city to escape offworld. Soon, she had signed her name on the dotted line and was an official employee of the Republic Trade Coalition.
She fulfilled her two year contract faithfully, but became jaded by the Republic's treatment of their cargo haulers. While she was grateful for her YX-1224, which she named "The Rimrunner", the Republic had paid her barely enough to scrape by. She'd gotten the taste of freedom while working for them, but after her contract was through she was left craving a higher-stakes, better paying business venture. She was eventually led to the Jusik Criminal Syndicate based on Tatooine. She'd originally never seen herself doing anything illegal, but the call of wealth was intoxicating for a young girl trying to make her mark on the galaxy. Everything in the Outer Rim revolved around power and money, a lesson she quickly learned once outside the Republic's jurisdiction. Though she'd gotten into some scraps and tight spots during her freight hauling career, the life of a smuggler was fraught with danger. Her skills as a mechanic grew as she began to modify her freighter with after-market parts to make it faster and stealthier than the legal limits allowed, and her quick draw with a blaster saved her life on multiple occasions where deals went sour.
Eventually, the crime syndicate collapsed on itself and disbanded. Lucky for Auri though, she was able to liquidate a number of the syndicates key assets and able to make it out with a huge sum of credits in her possession. She ran for a while, making sure that no bounty hunters or old syndicate members were trying to track her, before settling down and living the high life with the wealth she'd stolen. She had never been happier then in those first months of real wealth. She rented the most beautiful apartments she could find, spent her nights partying in clubs all across the galaxy, drank and took spice and had all kinds of friends, boyfriends and one-night-stands. Eventually though, she found herself alone, low on funds, and a mess. She'd partied two years of her life away, and ended up with nothing in the end. Auri knew she'd need to get back into the smuggling game if she wanted to stay alive. She had her looks, but she was never going to fall into that trap. She'd seen how pretty women with no skills were treated in the slimy underbelly of the galaxy. She dusted off her jacket and cleaned out the mess of beer bottles in her freighter. It was time for her to check on old contacts and get back into the game.
SHIP:
The Rimrunner is a YX-1224 "Bearclaw" by Corellian Engineering Corp. Auri has had it retrofitted with front facing quad cannons, and a swivel gun inserted into the top side of the ships hull. She's upgraded the hyperdrive to a class three, and removed the fuel pump for maximum sub-light performance. It's interior was refurnished with money from her days in the Jusik Criminal Syndicate, and is cleaner and shinier than the average decade-old bulk freighter. It comfortably fits up to 6 crew/passengers.
