Physical Description
Auren has a quietly striking presence — lean, athletic, and composed. His pale blue eyes are sharp yet thoughtful, often seeming to listen as much as they look. Dark, slightly unruly hair frames a defined jaw and calm expression, lending him an air of introspective focus. Draped in layered green and charcoal robes, his style is practical yet refined — shaped more by nature and tradition than fashion.
Personality and Beliefs
Auren carries himself with calm confidence and deliberate presence. It rarely demands attention — yet often draws it. He speaks using thoughtful, well-formed sentences that invite intrigue and reflection. In group settings, he listens intently, allowing others to speak, and then offers insights with a clarity. His patience is not passive — it is an active practice, honed through discipline and guided through his upbringing. Auren thinks in patterns, silences, and emotional undercurrents. He processes the world through intuition rather than impulse, paying close attention to what goes unspoken — the shift in posture, the tone behind a phrase, the tension between words. He replays conversations in his head not out of regret, but reflection — He holds himself to quiet, internal standards, and tends to be harder on himself than he would ever be on others.
"The chimes do not choose thier songs."
"Truth is often not what's spoken, but what's left unsaid."
- Leratian Proverbs
He trusts the Force not just as a power to wield, but a presence to follow, much like the elements on his homeworld. He believes nature reflects the Force — in stillness, in storms, in the quiet shifts before change.
Strengths
Deep listener:
Auren rarely interrupts or dominates a conversation. Instead, he listens so fully and empathetically that people often say more than they intend to — and leave feeling understood.
Emotional Insight:
He can intuitively sense what others are feeling, often before they do. Whether through microexpressions, tone, or the Force, Auren can defuse tension and uncover hidden motives.
Attunement to the Elements:
Auren has a rare sensitivity to the natural world, especially the subtle rhythms of the wind and air. Long before he was trained in the ways of the Force, he listened to the breath of the world itself — the way air shifts before conflict, how wind carries emotion, and how silence speaks. This elemental attunement gives him an instinctive awareness of change, imbalance, and presence, guiding him when logic alone falters.
Quiet Presence:
Without trying, Auren draws others into reflection. His quiet strength can disarm hostility and invite trust — not through power, but poise.
Weaknesses
Hesitant to Lead:
Despite his potential, Auren often defers to others. He doubts his intuition, sometimes missing moments where his voice could have made the difference.
Buried Pain:
Grief, loss, and doubt — that he rarely voices. When pushed too far, when diplomacy fails, he has felt flashes of emotion so fierce they scare him. His anger is rare, but when it comes, it is sudden and consuming — a force of nature, like the storms that once reshaped his life. He fears that he will never learn to fully master this part of himself… and that this flaw may one day make him unworthy of teaching others.
Difficulty letting go:
Auren often forms quiet emotional bonds — to places, objects, or people. He rarely expresses it, but when forced to part, it lingers.
Biography (various content to be added to codex)
Auren Kah'el was born on Leratis, a remote world nestled among a quieter cluster of lesser-known planets — insignificant in politics or wealth, but known for its seasons, flora and its fauna. And, for its wind-temples: ancient stone structures designed to hum and sing as mountain winds passed through them.
His parents were Aeolian weavers — artisans who tuned these temples as part of a cultural tradition passed down for generations. Though not Force-sensitive themselves, they believed the wind carried "truths unspoken," and that listening was the first sacred act of any good life.
Auren grew up in silence — not the absence of sound, but the presence of meaningful quiet. He learned to read emotions before words, to observe without judgement, and to wait for people to say what they truly meant, not what they said first.
When he was twelve, a somewhat familiar face passed through his home on Leratis — kind in nature and graceful with her words. She spoke of a force, not as an order, but as something elemental — a living current within us, not just around us. She approached Auren during a temple ceremony and stayed a little longer than the typical traveller would. She felt something in him — not power, but resonance.
Before departing, she offered Auren a curio for him to keep — a small, translucent quartz, colourless, smooth, and warm to the touch — along with the message:
"You can not only listen, but move with the winds. Should you search for meaning, follow their patterns. Heed their calls."
Auren took pride not only in the curious words the woman spoke, but in the gift she gave him. From that moment, things began to change. He began to feel the wind-temples more deeply — flickers of memory, emotion, or presence that were not his own. The Force had begun to whisper.
At nineteen, a storm tore through the mountains — not a typical Leratian storm, but one that could carve stone. His parents were caught atop the cliffs, tuning chimes as they had done a thousand times before — but when the storm passed, only their instruments remained.
Their absence grew deeply and harshly within Auren, and home began to feel like a vacant memory.
He left Leratis with his belongings and a quiet certainty. Guided not by maps or duty, but by the subtle pull of the Force — by shifting patterns, by intuition, by breath. In time, that pull led him to the Jedi.
They took him in because they saw something quietly powerful: a sensitivity to his surroundings and a natural ability to look inwards. A young man who already listened like a Jedi Master, but spoke like someone still discovering what he believed. And a presence that didn't demand attention — but somehow, always changed the room.
