Lady Emerald
Stone Cold Sweetie
Nobody appreciated clothes.
Not the way they should. There was so much about that could be said with the shade of silk in a dress, or the cut of a suit. Emerald eyed the shimmering red organza that was draped around the form of a Twi'lek reporter. This was a woman who appreciated fashion, but perhaps did not have the funds for designer clothes. The dress she wore was a knock off. Emerald could always spot a knock off a mile away. Like that womans shoes, or that mans suit.
She smiled her best winning smile as she glided through the crowd, glass in hand. She greeted fashion icons with familiar smiles and fake kisses to the cheek before moving on. The show had been a complete success. Her fall fashion line had been received with great applause. Especially the last gown on the runway, the real showstopper. A dazzling sea green, dripping with teal and white stones. It's five foot long train may have been a bit excessive, but Emerald did not believe in subtly. That could not have been more apparent by her gown for the event.
If there was a color she wore well, it was black. But, of course, everybody wore black well. It was a great color, figure flattering, elegant. But it could become dull and fade into the background if one did not know how to design with that in mind. For this dress, she chose to work with the colors ability to elongate a body, making her dress long enough to sweet the floor and create a stately, towering silhouette. Of course, that alone did not an interesting gown make. With a heavy velvet, she created large cloth roses and had them accentuate the neckline, almost dripping off of one shoulder. Asymmetry was all the rage this season, after all.
