STRENGTHS

Collapsible - Due to borrowing design elements from the AT-P5 previously produced by Aether Technologies, the AT-FG15 is capable of being "collapsed". In this configuration, the stock, forward barrel, and upper rail of the weapon can be removed, turning the AT-FG15 into a smaller handheld blaster pistol that is more easily concealable than a full-sized blaster carbine.

Auto-Steady Gyrogimbal - A standard component that features heavily in a myriad of weapons produced by Aether Technologies, which ensures that the weapon remains steady even when being fired.

Increased Rate of Fire - The AT-FG15 is noted as having a marked increase in its basic rate of fire, often out-firing weapons such as the AT-P5 and AT-WM9 - both produced by Aether Technologies - in the sheer amount of blaster bolts it is capable of sending down range.

WEAKNESSES

Limited Range - The AT-FG15 is noted as having a limited effective range due to its size and the emission of a weaker blaster bolt compared to a dedicated blaster rifle. The AT-FG15 is most effective when utilized in close quarters or personal rangers often associated with boarding action or the confines of the streets and alleyways of Ferrix.

Stopping Power - While capable of producing a greater amount of blaster bolts in a singular volley, the weapon is noted as having a weaker stopping power when compared to dedicated Blaster Rifles or even Heavy Blaster Pistols.

Collapsible - While the AT-FG15 can be "collapsed" down into a smaller handheld balster, this configuration further diminishes its already lessened capabilities. This results in a further limiting of its effective range as well as diminishing its already weak stopping power; thus, it is highly cautioned against utilizing this configuration unless necessary.

DESCRIPTION

The AT-FG15 is considered to be the successor to the AT-P5, which was originally produced for the Galactic Alliance and the planned Phantom Assault Squads. Due to this, the AT-FG15 shares many design similarities, specifically in its capability of being "collapsed" down to a smaller configuration by removing the stock, forward barrel, and upper rail, which turns the weapon into a more easily concealable handheld blaster. The reason for carrying over this design element is largely due to the tight confines of the alleyway and corridors of Ferrix City, in which a larger full-sized blaster rifle would be unwieldy and difficult to properly operate. However, this has also carried over the design flaws of the AT-P5, as the AT-FG15 is noted as having a limited effective range, as well as producing a weaker blaster bolt that does not have the same stopping power seen in larger, standard blaster rifles. Where the AT-FG15 differs from the AT-P5 is in its increased rate of fire, as the weapon has shown that it can often out-fire its predecessor in the sheer amount of blaster bolts it is capable of sending down range. It should also be noted that while the AT-FG15 can also be collapsed down as previously mentioned, this does, however, result in a diminishing of its already limited capabilities. When utilized in its smaller handheld blaster configuration, the AT-FG15 has a further reduced effective engagement range, and its already weak blaster bolt is diminished further - with use of this configuration only advisable in the most dire of circumstances. The AT-FG15 also comes equipped with features that were seen in its predecessor, such as a recoil-damping stock attached to the foldable stock, which makes the weapon feel as though it produces no recoil when fired with the weapon properly shouldered. The AT-FG15 also includes an Auto-Steady Gyrogimbal system, a component that ensures that the AT-FG15 remains stable even when being fired or experiencing the usual movements when its operator is in motion, thus ensuring increased accuracy on targets and lessening the chances of accidental stray blaster-bolts. Much like its predecessors, the AT-FG15 can be seen as lacking; however, when properly deployed in its intended environments - alleyways, corridors, and ship interiors, naming a few - the weapon more than makes up for these drawbacks. The inclusion of a selective fire mode - which was not present in the AT-P5 - also means that the operator of the weapon has additional options to choose when approaching a target. This means that the AT-FG15 can easily utilize a single-shot or burst-fire mode to retain higher accuracy, or utilize the fully-automatic mode to saturate a target with sheer volume of blaster-bolts. Likewise, the carry-over of its ability to be broken down into a smaller handheld blaster pistol provides the means to easily conceal the weapon if captured or caught. Though the Ferrixian Guard is only just beginning, and the first few troopers have only recently begun to patrol the streets of Ferrix City, they are doing so with the AT-FG15 at their side.
