+/- Emotion like Stone: Chiss are known for their frosty demeanor and general stoic facades. Astaire maintains these, but unlike most Chiss who would choose to avoid their passion for fear of bringing emotion into the equation, he does the opposite. This provides him the social power of a stoic Chiss, but also detracts from what could otherwise be an extremely logical strategic mind.
+/- Sith: Like all Sith, Astaire has the power to be a force one does not wish to reckon with. But as a Sith, he is also prone to such acts as sending off part of his assets in attempts to find immortality. Quests that will ultimately prove fruitless, but ones his ego need undertake.
APPEARANCE:
Despite his 'young' age, Astaire has matured as all Chiss do. While only 14, he has the mind and body of a mid-twenties human, complete with high metabolism to keep him in trim, fighting shape. Dead eyes peer out dispassionately from beneath a mop of black, greasy hair, while his blue skin - paled by corruption - allows the scars on his face to stand out more prominently, especially when they're covered over with black paint.
Relatively tall and fit, Astaire walks with the straight backed military posture common among the Chiss, and were it possible for him to look down his nose at everyone, he would. When clothed, he prefers dress clothes and uniforms, as is common among his people - he holds no true color preference, beyond black.
BIOGRAPHY:
As the Chiss are wont to do, Astaire was a child secreted away to ensure that the bloodline would not be eradicated. But as with most of these situations, he did not stay. Possessed with a spirit for traveling not common among his people, he made for the galaxy at large several years before Akala returned. While not affected by the mass disappearance in that he was pulled along, he was profoundly affected by life for those left behind.
In some parts of the galaxy, order was restored swiftly. For the large part, however, the rule of the strong was imposed. Be that person a local warlord, despot or chief executive officer, whoever had the most power was in charge. Sometimes that power took intangible routes - influence due to old power bases - and sometimes it took more tangible ones - I have more guns than you. On some worlds, anarchy ruled, where only those with the highest kill count were afforded any priviledge.
This left an impression on the swiftly developing boy, one that was more subtle than overt. While still possessed of the general Chiss demeanor, by the time he arrived on Coruscant, what he'd seen and done had darkened the Force Potential within him. While hardly a known name, there are whispers that he was once a promising military cadet, one ruined by a Force Potential that left his mind scarred - a mind so scarred that he made his face to match it.
Still, the Chiss with the voices in his hand managed to at least draw the amusement of [member=Vrag], a powerful Sith Lord with the reputation to shame even the most notorious of warriors. Yet, despite the apparent safety of his admittedly tenuous position it was on Contruum that he would lose not only his right arm but find a saber piercing through his gut, sending him to near death. Rebuilt with a cybernetic arm and replacement organs, Astaire now hopes to further his training while recovering from the invasion.
